jberryhill (25,842 posts) About Romney going down in flames... Not the campaign, but Ann's plane wasn't just making a metaphorical point, there was a cockpit fire in a 1989 airplane owned by a finance company (probably as security in a loan) which could have led to a serious event. We are all glad it was landed safely. [ --Sgt SB]These campaigns involve a lot of travel, and a significant level of physical danger - from falling down the stairs or a platform collapse, to crazy people or groups of them. I hope all of the candidates and their campaign staff and families remain safe.
msongs (27,376 posts) 1. this extremely wealthy person uses a 23 year old obsolete jet? guess it was cheap nt Age doesn't matter, cycles and maintenance do. With proper maintenance, I dunno if that's a factor You finally got something right. But I know jack about airworthiness. That's for da** sure. They probably own it, sold it to the finance company which then loaned them the money to buy it back. The finance company is then owned by a trust to which they are beneficiaries. That way, they don't "own" the jet, but they can deduct the expense of paying themselves for it. Back to being wrong again.
