Oh my.

Atman.

Watching the tapes of 9/11...even Matt Lauer asks...

Given the proximity to major airports and the size of the planes, how could air traffic controllers NOT have seen them coming. He says we'll get more information from the tapes. Which, we now know, were quickly destroyed.

2. 18 minutes between strikes.

NO ONE saw at least the second plane coming?

8. I'm not wandering into CT

I'm watching the re-broadcast of NBC's coverage, and observing some of the comments the anchors were making at the time.

BTW, nearly 40 minutes later, ATC still hasn't noticed that a third plane is off course and headed toward the Pentagon.

4. Someone answered the phone at Canter Fitzgerald?

Just heard Katie Couric say that. WTF? They already said all local tv had been knocked off the air because the towers are on top of the buildings. But telephone service to the burning top floors was still intact more than half an hour later? Couric said they called in and someone at CF answered and yelled "We're *bleeping* dying up here!" and hung up, but no one answered subsequent calls.

16. More amazing observations...

Jim Miklashewski (sp?) initially commented that no one saw a plane. They assume it was a bomb.

Then, after the first collapse, the reporter talking to Tom Brokaw says

"It just collapsed into its own footprint. Buildings just don't collapse that way!"

Later, at 10:13, they are STILL not able to confirm that it was a plane that hit the Pentagon.

19. Locking...

This appears to discuss CT.

20. Unlocking! :)

Thanks to Atman for understanding - and for the nice unlock request.

Thanks to other hosts for weighing in.

Carry on...

If AlGore had only carried his own home state of Tennessee, where the people who knew him best voted for Bush, he would have taken his rightful place in the White House and would have been able to stand in front of the second World Tower with his hand out stretched and stopped that plane.

That whole tragedy could have been averted.

18 minutes? I love it that the so called and self described smartest people in the world prove themselves to be such idiots.

The second jet was heading on the correct path and then changed directions. Total time off of flight path was about 5 minutes. I would go get some chicken wire, a brick, and some gas to prove this but don't have them handy.

You know, I've been in the mid-Atlantic states and New England too many times to count, and observed lots of things.

In fact, it's very likely franksolich was in Springfield, Massachusetts, the same summer Atman had his "art studio" across the street from some famous house there, where an illustrator of children's books had lived. This would've been the summers of 1978 and 1979, and I walked by that house many times.

One thing, though--of all that I ever saw in the mid-Atlantic states and New England, I don't ever recall paying particular attention to the skies.

Are aircraft flying overhead easily visible there?

They are here, of course, but we're not crowded and congested.

I am a know nothing country bumpkin but I expect that air traffic controllers don`t look out the window to spot planes.
They are trained I would think to pay attention to radar and/or whatever other signal the transponder sends out.
That was shut off by the hijackers so the planes were essentially "lost".

Pedro Mcgrath once again proves he is an idiot among idiots.

That's what I was wondering.

Thank you, sir!

A plane being off track for 5 minutes in some of the busiest airspace in the world?  This is surprising? It probably happened more than we would like to admit pre 9/11. Until that day, planes were not used as weapons by terrorists, and ATC's were not expecting an attack like that. It is understandable the ATC's lost the planes for crucial minutes, especially if the terrorists disabled the transponders they would normally look for. Are these people really this obtuse  :censored: :bird:

The long and the short of it was, we were attacked, yes ATTACKED you @#%$wads, by fundamentalist muslims trying to defeat the 'great satan' America. These same fundamentalist Muslims still are attacking our nation today. And these @#$!ers are too busy looking for the Second Shooter on the Grassy #%^!ing knoll to see it. I am sick and tired of all this Farentheit 9/11 #@%!shit, it is obvious Atman needs to lay off the  :stoner:.

Sorry, But this @#%$wad really got my goat with his conspiracy theories. I have only one thing to say to Atman, Keep your delusions to yourself.

P.S. Was it the 'spawn of satan' George Bush or teh Won that had an overflight in Air Force One that scared the s@#t out of New Yorkers and made them think another 9/11 was taking place?  oh right....

This is a prime example of why tigers eat their young. Atman is to stupid to breath let alone talk about how planes fly in the air.
