(fanfare please) Ladies and Gents, MY MOM JUST WENT BLUE!!!!!!
I took my 76 year old mom to the airport this morning. She and I have an agreement (well, she does. This is her rule: "I don't talk politics with you."). Over the years she has become more and more conservative.
I know she listens to Fox and is very Catholic. She hates birth control and abortion. (likes gay peeps) but she has bought the whole "Your Christianity is under attack" argument. Our last political conversation turned into an argument because my mom is sure the Muslims (and others) are trying to take away her Christmas.
She has also bought some of the crap about minorities and welfare. When I showed her the stats in 2010 of who uses welfare, she was incredulous. She'd bought the right's numbers and was shocked to see to who and where our welfare funding goes. I truly think she thought most of black America is on welfare and white people don't use it.
Today in the car I asked her if she had seen Romney's video and she blew up. She thinks he is "disgusting" and is offended by his attitudes and money. Her comment: "He is so rich he has no idea what everyone else deals with." I asked her if she was voting for Romney and she said "No. I could never vote for a man like that." (She voted for McCain). During the 25 minute drive she spent most of talking about how awful Mitt Romney is. I hardly said a word.
In just three days I have had two strong, conservative, Republican-voting women in my life, who have not only admitted that they dislike Romney, but they have committed to voting against him.
People, it feels like I got my mom back today!

7. It really does!! She does so much to help people so to see her going red was very sad to me
It made me kind of sick, to be honest.
So, this is a good day!!!!
Question.
Based upon previous practice and usage and tradition on Skins's island, isn't it about three weeks too early to start bouncing the ball?
There's bouncies all year long on Skins's island, but in previous election seasons, they never got this numerous until 2-3 weeks before the election.
One wonders what's up with this new trend, why it is.
