It continues to amaze me how I miss out on encounters such as this.  Several years ago following my wife's motorscooter accident, for a period of several months we visited various specialist's offices about twice a week.

Now, we are to the point where we have normal, regularly scheduled visits.

In all of our combined waiting room time (include dermatologist and dentist), I've NEVER had or overheard one single solitary political discussion in one of those waiting rooms.

I think DUmmies make stuff up, each one trying to outdo the others.

I have been to the doctor probably more times since 1995 than most everyone on CC combined. I have never had a confrontation regarding politics or overheard one.  I have never been at Wal-Mart (needing to make an excuse as to why I shopped there) and had/heard a political confrontation either.

Me neither, but my Doctor on the other hand can't stand the big O and isn't shy about saying so......

I've had political discussions with my rheumatologist (that I have had since 1995) and my GP in CA.  Neither voted for Obama. I suspect my old retina doctor in CA was a lib, only because he had Mother Jones magazines in his waiting room. Although he had two other partners so he may not have been the moonbat who ordered the magazine subscription. He knew what he was doing so I didn't care what his politics were.

There shouldn't be any doubt about it. They routinely describe the sort of encounters people virtually never have in public, the kind you see on television and in movies, the obviously scripted kind. The only thing I've seen that even comes close occurred in '08 when someone campaigning for Obama came to our door. My mother went outside briefly to talk with the woman. The exchange ended with "Well, I hope McCain doesn't die in office!"

You sensed exactly the same thing I did, although yours was subconscious and mine was conscious.

I've never heard Barack Milhous, only "read" his body language.

Six, not four, years ago, I insisted there's nothing in him, he's pretty stupid, and probably a marionette manipulated by either certain individuals (who, I have no idea) or the cultural tsunami of liberal white guilt.

You see the same thing I did.

My impression is that Whiffenpoof is a mole, and wanted to type out and post certain things, to see if he/she could get away with it.  Such as:

Obama is a socialist, and you must be a socialist too...all the Democrats want is to get everything for free and not work for it. They're a bunch of lazy freeloaders. ... She then stated again that more people are on food stamps than ever before and that the President is the "food stamp president."

I think the fictitious waiting room ladies had some good points.

While I certainly haven't been to the docs as much as you (damn you're tough), I've spent plenty of time in the lobby of psych docs where most of the crazy people are liberals and still no confrontations. Usually plenty of greenery, mostly ficus trees. I suppose it's because it's the one place where the cops actually need bushes to jump out from behind. They all seem to have fish tanks too...so does my dentist's office...wonder if there's a connection.

I've been kicking around this ol' world for almost half a century. In that time, not one person has  called me a "****ing idiot", at least not to my face. That may be because I'm not a ****ing idiot, or it may be because I have always been surrounded by kind and goodhearted people.

In contrast, DUmmy GoCubsGo is called a "****ing idiot" so often that he has a preplanned, rehearsed retort, which he "usually" uses and which "shuts 'em up every time."

How big of a ****ing idiot does the DUmmy have to be, to draw such frequent attention from total strangers?

I wonder what his reply would have been to a person who said they were an agnostic?
