The OP screws up the sizing, of course, so I substituted another picture of this:

Sand sculpture of Obama being built for DNC convention imitation of Mt. Rushmore?

but not Obama. Otherwise, very impressive work. Does not look at all like Mt Rushmore except the sand looks the color of stone.

3. Sorry, but I don't like it.

Not only does it not resemble Obama, but I think it is inappropriate

12. Sorry but

it looks ****ing awful to me.

Students did much of the work on Rushmore once it was mapped for them. They made a better job of it than this tragedy.

By the way, in case nobody's current, this very "sculpture" just got melted away by rain.

It's on Drudge.....somewhere.

A rather auspicious start for the Democrat National Convention, I guess.

I put the link in the Shout Box.  Apparently, there's some that consider the partial rain damage a bad omen for the DNC, and the campaign in general. :loser: :evillaugh:

Had to go look - seems like it's going to be partially restored (BARF!!!) but the storm erased his entire right elbow.

It's godawful - reminds me of Al Jolson in blackface.

Maybe its practice for when he retires to Hawaii this coming January, and they carve his likeness on a volcano.

(I think it is real unlikely he is going to return to Chicago- Back in Hawaii- where the choom grows wild & free is where Obama's heart is.)

Anyway, apparently this sculpture is a tourist attraction, and a really terrible one at that. And even though this is going to sound awfully "primitive" , whoever did it didn't think about it first, and the obvious low-rent racist joke its going to generate.
