So McCain and Levin want to bar United Technologies from getting defense contracts?

Seems United Technologies Corp. (UTC) violated federal law and sold some restricted software to the Chinese.

That was probably not a good thing to do. It was probably counter to our national best interest. It is probably worthy of punishment. In fact, Pratt & Whitney Canada pleaded guilty to the charges and was fined more than a few bux.

So these two Senators want to bar the company from defense contracting.

Okay. A worthy consideration, probably.

But how about this? How about we consider the workers who will be out of jobs? How about we consider the impact on the economy? It won't affect just the Canada subdivision. Of course, if UTC is smart - and I have no doubt they are - they'll probably figure a way to get around this. And so they'll be okay. Jobs will be saved, and Levin and McCain will look tough.

But how about **this**? How about if we order the board of UTC to come clean as to who made the actual decision to commit the crime, and require them to provide the documentation to back it up? If they don't, *then* we shut 'em down. Meanwhile, we find the actual people who actually made the actual decision to actually sell the actual software to the actual Chinese. And how about we prosecute these titans of industry for the crime? You know. Personal accountability.

The corporate veil is only as strong as the crime-free nature of the veiled. UTC has admitted they committed a criminal act. Now let's get the people who actually did it.

I think that would be a good thing.

That almost sounds reasonable.  Hold the people , not the entire company responsible.

However, this DUmmie wants to imprison almost every single DemonRat that has ever held office.

1. Yes, personal responsibility, that's the key!

Punishment for weakening our national security is life imprisonment, isn't it?

He's wrong, but I like the idea of punishing them.

3. I'd be happy if they got five years!

The simple fact of charging someone with a crime would be worth a light sentence.

Personally, I think Holder and Obama deserve much more than 5 years.

He thinks the STAT-CHEW of limitations has run out on that act of treason.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
