My thoughts on the Chick-fil-A situation
« on: July 26, 2012, 08:55:01 PM »
The Bible says not to steal. The Bible says not to lie.
From my understanding the owner of Chick-fil-A strives to follow these (and other) Biblical values.

The owner of Chick-fil-A has said: I was not so committed to financial success that I was willing to abandon my principles and priorities
And he has also said: We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel says: Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values.

If I was from Chicago I'd be pissed at Rahm for lumping me in with himself and the other lying thieves without principles who want to destroy families. Of course, this probably elevates him even higher in the eyes of the DUmp.
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

Yeah I'm sure that most business approve of "Chicago" gang tactics like voter fraud and payoffs. I'd rather take Chick-fil-A over Rahm anyday.

The BIGGEST issue is that Chick-Fil-A came out for something that all the liberals hate, God. It is only natural that they would revolt on them. They would have done that same thing if they came out and said they are pro-life, or anti-Muslim Brotherhood. Any time someone comes out in favor of something they hate, or don't agree with, they revolt.

The best way to make a liberal revolt is to come out in favor of God, babies, the Flag, this country, the troops, the death penalty, and israel.

It's just another manufactured controversy from the homo lobby.  **** them.

It seems to me we've been getting quite a few manufactured issues the past four years.

This reminds me of when the big guy was running for city council, and he decided he would define the issues, rather than listening to the public to find out what the public thought the issues were, and go from there.

Drudge yesterday had a link to a story where Boston backed down.  I can't find it today.

Saw that, too.
Here's a link to "The Blaze", that also discusses it.

What's so funny is this is a known company that because church is on Sunday, he closes all of them nationwide.  It's hilarious that they think he would have a different stance.

I'd be willing to wager that the aclu is doing their best to find a way to sue them for that.

CFA just posted this to their Facebook page.
Quote
Another rumor related to Chick-fil-A that is currently in the media is related to the Jim Henson Kid's Meal prizes. We want to set the facts straight. Chick-fil-A made the choice to voluntarily withdraw the Jim Henson Kid's Meal puppets for potential safety concerns for our customers on Thursday, July 19. On July 20, Chick-fil-A was notified of the Jim Henson Company's decision to no longer partner with us on future endeavors.

Curious.

When I saw Whoopie Goldberg stick up for Chick-Fil-A yesterday, I was floored. I couldn't believe she was advocating free speech. Wow.

The thing the mayor of Boston has to also look at is that Chick-Fil-A can sue them for discrimination if they don't let them into the city. And that reason is because everyone knows why they would be.

From everything I've seen come out of Chicago, I'd say Chick-Fil-A is definitely not in line with their "values."  Good for Chick-Fil-A!!!!

Reminds me of a time when Friendly's had this thing where on someones birthday, usually a child, the servers would come prancing into the room with a small cake and balloons and sing Happy birthday to the child.

Naturally a law suit came about, one of the employees refused to do so on religious grounds.   As they refused to forfill their duty's they were fired.    I never found out what happend, but it cost the Company big bucks to defend itself in court and before the Labor Board.

Another problem was the supermarket checkers that were Muslim refused to handle any pork products or restock the beer and Wine isles.  It is illegal to ask a prospective employee their religion so this is where the Company's are in a bind.

This is much different from the B&B problem.   This is the Employees telling the Boss how to run their company.

Of course CFA and the government of Chicago don't have shared values.  Unlike the government of Chicago,  a third of the board of directors at CFA are not under indictment.

The only reason the leftists are backing down now is because the boycott isn't working, and if anything I'm sure Chick Fil A's business has increased, and they're being called out by their own. People are getting fed-up, free speech doesn't only apply to gay activists, and because a person is against "gay marriage" doesn't mean they're a bigot. As usual the left goes too far on an issue and Americans start fighting back.
