Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, which is in the same category as antisocial and borderline personality disorders.

Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:

Believing that you're better than others
Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
Exaggerating your achievements or talents
Expecting constant praise and admiration
Believing that you're special and acting accordingly
Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings
Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
Taking advantage of others
Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
Being jealous of others
Believing that others are jealous of you
Trouble keeping healthy relationships
Setting unrealistic goals
Being easily hurt and rejected
Having a fragile self-esteem
Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional
Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it's not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don't value themselves more than they value others.

When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don't receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may insist on having "the best" of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance.

But underneath all this behavior often lies a fragile self-esteem. You have trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism. You may have a sense of secret shame and humiliation. And in order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better.

I know this disorder well... they don't think rules apply to them.

Most DUmmies and most DemonRats all suffer this mental illness.  DUmmies also lay claim to a busload more illnesses than that, though.

Jackoff has got to be a mole.
Just described the current resident of the White House.  :lmao: :rotf:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I just realized something here. That is that the DUmmie actually knows what the Mayo Clinic is. He must have asked his mommy before looking it up.

Yeah, bullshit.  "Healthy" still includes putting yourself first, it's more a matter of being able to actually empathize with the others that will be affected in making those decisions and weigh their feelings for something in your decision process instead of just not really giving a shit at all...and for that matter, there is a certain portion of life decisions where it's actually better to just not give a shit at all about everyone else.

Okay let's see...

Believing that you're better than others
DUmmies always preaching to the choir about how much smarter they are, how many times they've put someone on the right path or argued their way into making them look foolish while the crowd around them applauds.

Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
They live vicariously off the power and success of other liberals as if it were their success and constantly denigrating the looks of conservative women (which, of course, implies they're more attractive).

Exaggerating your achievements or talents
They're always bragging about how many degrees they have, their business acumen (even when they've lost benefits), how much better they are than everyone else at...well everything.

Expecting constant praise and admiration
Constantly posting bouncies to get pats on the back, complements and abundant praise for their intelligence.

Believing that you're special and acting accordingly
Too much to list.

Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings
Vicious attacks and name calling of people who don't agree with them. Many of their insults include calling the other side gay which ignores emotions and feelings of a group of people they're supposed to care about.

Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
Well, their constant fantasy conversation with "others" where "others" end up being stupid for not thinking like them. Everyone gangs up on the people on DU who try to introduce another perspective. Often said posts are blocked.

Taking advantage of others
Handouts, handouts, handouts. Did I mention handouts?

Oh crap! I'm gonna end up writing a damned novel!
