So LOL, let's discuss the issue of taxes
« on: July 09, 2012, 08:58:53 PM »
As we see by Denise Rich renouncing her US citizenship because of taxes, how is it that the left doesn't get that? here's another story on the issue of taxes, how many of us ever had jobs given to us by poor people? I wish they'd just admit what's behind their real motives on raising taxes, it's to make as many people as miserable as they are, instead of pulling themselves up by the bootstraps they'd rather take others down with them.

In Maryland, Higher Taxes Chase Out Rich: Study

A new report says wealthy Maryland residents may be moving out due to recent tax hikes – a finding that is sure to escalate the battle over taxing the American rich.

The study, by the anti-tax group Change Maryland, says that a net 31,000 residents left the state between 2007 and 2010, the tenure of a "millionaire's tax" pushed through by Gov. Martin O'Malley. The tax, which expired in 2010, in imposed a rate of 6.25 percent on incomes of more than $1 million a year.

The Change Maryland study found that the tax cost Maryland $1.7 billion in lost tax revenues. A county-by-county analysis by Change Maryland also found that the state’s wealthiest counties also had some of the largest population outflows.

In total, Maryland has added 24 new taxes or fees in recent years, Change Maryland says. Florida, which has no income-tax, has been a large recipient of Maryland's exiled wealthy.

“Maryland has reached the point of diminishing returns. We're taxing people too much and people are voting with their feet," said Change Maryland Chairman Larry Hogan. “Until we change our focus from tax increases to increasing the tax base, more people are simply going to leave, leading to a downward spiral of raising revenues on fewer citizens."

Illinois raised taxes had less tax revenue and got higher unemployment.  Works every time it's tried!
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

And again the left doesn't get it, or I should say they get it but want people to be as miserable as they are.

Liberal policies are constructed under the assumption that:

1) you'll just sit there and take it

2) they'll one day have enough power to make you sit there and take it
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

I think it's worse than that...they never actually think about it long enough to figure out that people might DO something to change what they pay.  And this despite their love of taxing things to force people to buy insurance or eat less sugar.  It is truly a type of insanity.   :mental:

Something else that pisses me off is like when Rush left New York.  Patterson laughed, saying, "we would have raised taxes earlier if we knew how to get rid of him."  I wanted to throttle that idiot.  It's juvenile and self-defeating, and not something a serious person would say.

Even Cuomo gets that there is no future in being the tax capitol of the country.  Astounding for a democrat.  St. Lawrence County spends money like a drunken sailor, and is a serious addict for the cash.  The demos there wanted to jack up the sales tax even more, but the Repuke senators put the kibosh on it.  They were madder than a wet hen.  It's cow and Amish country up there, BTW.  People barely get by, and live very spartanly.  This is no Manhattan.

All they care about is punishing the rich, they would rather have every citizen as poor as a church mouse than to let an evil rich person keep a dime more than they think they should have.

The Dims are going to try to spin the tax cut battle as the GOP trying to hold tax cuts for the middle class, the GOP needs to counter that as the democrats are holding the tax cuts hostage.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

This gentleman said it best.

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
Winston Churchill

Rush made a statement on his show yesterday, said that ALL the states that have Republican governors have the lowest tax rates and the lowest unemployment numbers in the US.

Dims, not so much.   :lmao:
