You know, once they get hold of a narrative they never, ever let go despite evidence to the contrary. It's absolutely amazing how they're willing to deliberately make fools of themselves. Andy did qualify for Medicaid despite what he says. He and Puffy or Lumpy or bug or whatever his life partner's name was were not married so his income would in no way be considered in Andy's ability to qualify. He wasn't employed except for voluntarily cruising the country having dinner and drinks with other liberals with the battle cry of "voter verified paper ballots!" This from the party that was obsessed with having these machines because they'd stop vote fraud. Probably had his dinner and drinks paid for since he had no income.
According to his primary care physician, Andy did his own research and "chose" Johns Hopkins. No competent doctor (well she was a nurse practitioner) would do this and if that were the case, she's most responsible for his death. Instead of traipsing across the country and having the stupidest woman on the Internets be his fundraiser, she should IMMEDIATELY admitted him to Virginia Mason which was, ironically, located in Seattle. At the time, it's pancreatic protocols were so successful that other hospitals adopted them, including Johns Hopkins. Imagine the time he could have saved. Even 2 or 3 weeks can make a huge difference in an aggressive disease like pancreatic cancer.
Still, if he insisted, his doctor could easily have arranged for him to be treated there, instead of having to beg for donations while he casually moved across the country. Johns Hopkins has this online form a doctor can fill out to have him treated at JH. Medicaid in Washington state is very lenient and allows their clients to use the insurance anywhere they want with the exact same benefits. Certainly both his doctor and JH would know the importance of early treatment. If I were his family, I would have sued her and whatever clinic she worked for.
The one thing I've always been curious about, though, he uploaded his x-rays to prove he was suffering from this dreaded disease. But for some reason, they only did an x-ray of his lungs and found only a few dark spots. The kind you would get after having bronchitis. The kind where doctors have you come in again in a couple months to see if they're gone. Of course, I'm not a doctor so maybe this is the best way to find it.
Amity always thought he had a tummy tuck or one of those band things put around his stomach because he recovered so quickly. Unfortunately, he was lax about keeping his wound clean. He ended up in a hospital crawling with silverfish. Saw one the other day but they're very rare here. Maybe they all moved north for some reason.
