1. F&F the new birtherism? If only that were true...

Fast and Furious was a real ****-up operation, and someone needs to be held accountable.

Question Issa's motives all you want, but the bottom-line is that Holder owns this scandal, and either needs to make BATFE heads roll or resign.

Edit to add: and Rachel's never been accurate when it comes to guns/control.

Yeah...about that...not so much.  :whatever:

This is for all the Libs and BDS sufferers lurking here:

Quote
It was left to Republican Senators Charles Grassley and John Cornyn to lay bare some crucial distinctions between to two ATF operations. Wide Receiver actually involved not gun-walking but controlled delivery. Unlike gun-walking, which seems (for good reason) to have been unheard of until Fast & Furious, controlled delivery is a very common law enforcement tactic. Basically, the agents know the bad guys have negotiated a deal to acquire some commodity that is either illegal itself (e.g., heroin, child porn) or illegal for them to have/use (e.g., guns, corporate secrets). The agents allow the transfer to happen under circumstances where they are in control — i.e., they are on the scene conducting surveillance of the transfer, and sometimes even participating undercover in the transfer. As soon as the transfer takes place, they can descend on the suspects, make arrests, and seize the commodity in question — all of which makes for powerful evidence of guilt.

To the contrary, Fast & Furious involved uncontrolled deliveries — of thousands of weapons. It was an utterly heedless program in which the feds allowed these guns to be sold to straw purchasers — often leaning on reluctant gun dealers to make the sales. The straw purchasers were not followed by close physical surveillance; they were freely permitted to bulk transfer the guns to, among others, Mexican drug gangs and other violent criminals — with no agents on hand to swoop in, make arrests, and grab the firearms. The inevitable result of this was that the guns have been used (and will continue to be used) in many crimes, including the murder of Brian Terry, a U.S. border patrol agent.

Fast & Furious did not begin until 2009, months after the end of the Bush administration.

Damn, they are some thick-headed bastards over there.

They're not think-headed. They're desperate.

They know just how serious this is and how inexcusable it is.

They wanted Bush impeached for exercising his constitutionally explicit perogative as POTUS to replace federal attorneys.

Yet, here is their messiah doing shit that that collectively trumps Watergate, Iran-Contra and missed 9/11 warnings.

This is an operation that had no other discernible outcome except to gin-up gun crime statistics and in that fact is a pile of dead women and children.

THIS PRESIDENT MURDERED PEOPLE TO ADVANCE HIS GUN CONTROL AGENDA

This is every MIHOP conspiracy they dreamed of only their side actually made it happen.

And they ****ing well know it.

And they know you and everyone else knows it.

They're desperate.

This is going to blow up in Dear Leader's face.  It's just a matter if it will happen before or after the election, but the metaphorical "Pandora's Box" is open.

What will be interesting is watching the primitives have to make-up history in order to cover their messiah's screw-ups.  No doubt those marching orders will also come from one of their leaders, and then out the mouth of Madcow to their awaiting ears.

The only thing I like about Winger is that Reb Beach is from Pittsburgh.

As for Maddow, she a butch bull dyke who has no idea what she is talking about. Not to mention, she is quite ugly.

What about the specific naming of Fast & Furious in the Porkulus bill?

Did Bush do that too?  If he did we should have kept that amazing man as POTUS.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I know most of the wackos in Sarge's list.  I don't know much about Malaise.  He/she/it is in Jamaica and has run up quite a post score.  Anyone know if Malaprop is a expat or just a foreigner meddling in US politics?

I caught the tail end of Rush's show yesterday. He just basically said they are going to blame President Bush and claim racism.

I'd love for you to answer this DUmmies: IF this was a Bush era program why didn't the most open administration in history stop this immediately (if you say they didn't know, that just indicates incompetence and stupidity) and let the American people know about this? Also, the Bush administration had tracking devices on the weapons. Why wouldn't the 0bama administration keep that as it seems a good way to actually "track" the weapons? Why did the Mexican government know and willingly cooperate in the Bush administration while the Mexican government knew nothing about Fast and Furious? Why was the Bush administration operation stopped QUICKLY when they realized it wasn't producing the results they wanted and the 0bama administration program continued until the public found out? And after hundreds of Mexican citizens and a border control agent was killed? Of course, even those of you who lurk here won't answer these questions (either here or at DU because you don't have the guts). To do so would require some critical thinking, perhaps some research and an admission that your Dear Leader isn't so pure, open and honest. Deluded and stupid is no way to go through life but you guys have perfected it to an art.

Well , it was done for purposes of taking guns from honest citizens under the pretense of crime control.
