DUer Artist ,Going to Lincoln Nebraska for a week in July

any one have any ideas of what a DUer like me can do there for a week?

I am going to be delivering some of my art and then onto Boulder to teach. This is my art if anyone wants some, knows someone who might want some, or wants to learn.

DUmmie babydollhead in real life is one Daviea Davis. From her bio: "Daviea is a self taught master glass mosaic artist and teacher. She has been peppering Pittsburgh with color and light for 17 years."

My last case of explosive diarrhea looked better than that art.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

3. Native Lincolnite here...

I moved away 20 years ago though I have family there and visit twice a year. I love and miss Lincoln but it's not exactly a tourist mecca. The Univ. of Nebraska campus is near downtown and that's where much of the action in Lincoln is. Interesting museums on campus, especially Sheldon Art Museum. A tour of the uniquely designed state capitol building is cool (Lots of great mural art and a great view of the city from the top). As a UNL graduate, much of my final years in town were spent in the bars and watering holes downtown. Not sure if that's your scene but I had a great deal of fun. Maybe check out The Zoo bar for great blues music (really, it's a highly regarded tour spot for national acts).

Have fun...the people of Lincoln are lovely (and it's pretty darn progressive for a town in a very red state).

I (CH) lived near Lincoln, 1992-96. It is a nice city. We enjoyed it.

Say, frank, maybe you could volunteer to be the babydollhead primitive's tour guide while she is in Lincoln. Or on her way west to Boulder, maybe she could stop in the Sandhills, and you could show her around.

Uh no, I think I'll pass.

Her bodily expressions make her come across as the bitter, Hate-filled, type.

And besides, I'm just right now dealing with the sabrina 1 primitive, and ain't done yet.

What the hell is a color movement?  Is that what happens when a dog eats a box of crayons?

I don't know who this "Self" guy is that supposedly taught her art but he wasn't much of a teacher and he damn sure wasn't an artist.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Speaking of movements, Frank could show her the William Rivers Pitt mound.  Now I bet she would love that.  Dig in Dollhead, dig in.  :-)

15. that one hangs at the Children and Family Court

Its 3' x 6' glass on wood and it hangs in the waiting room, where people wait for hours and hours. The whole time I worked on it i listened to Jeff Buckley singing "Sweet Thing"

16. I could not imagine a more appropriate place for it to be...

it immediately sends a warm, loving, caring feeling out to those who view it, it certainly did to me anyway.

Children and Family Court.  Where people scream at each other, hate and rage reign supreme.  Fear and anxiety consume the children, and someone always ends up with the short end of the stick.  These two imagine that this thing on the wall, whatever it is, will inspire caring 'n' sharing in those who view its countenance.

Actually, stained glass is pure art.   Some of the most beautiful glass is inside the old churches and can be breath taking.

This stuff the artist is doing is small, way to small, stained glass needs a good size piece of glass.  Most any welder that can run a bead can run a lead bead on glass today.  There are hobby shops that sell kits to cover a glass door. I have seen them but the price was out of my budget.

Now about Franks surprise guest, OH MY, so far she sounds OK, a bit foolish not to gone with the Sherriff to a safe but noisy Jail.   I do think the neighbor who rescued her was remiss in not informing a lone woman about an unknown host-------- Kind of foolish to leave a strange woman alone in someones home without insuring the woman herself was not an AX murder.

Actually she must have been too young to know of the Bates Motel.  Will be interesting to find out about her moral fiber, Who she is, where she is going and if the Police are looking for her.

I have a feeling that we may have to worry about Frank.  Will she try to murder Frank or will she save his life ???

Maybe OS can get her to make up a glass campaign road sign.
She might have a hard time finding the color "stupid", however.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
