It was reported tonight that the more Americans refer to themselves as independents than in the past 75 years. Now I have an issues with this. That issues being that a few of them (I'm not really sure what they numbers are) are not true independents. They are either Liberals, or Republicans masquerading as independents because they are too embarrassed to be referred to as one or the other.
Case in point: A couple of my liberal friends claim to be independent, but they only ever voted Democrat. They hate it when I don't call them independents, but instead liberals

Me, I am a registered independent (and recently, about six years ago, became a Social Conservative). I voted for Clinton both times (My first election) and I voted for Bush Both times. During the 2008 race, I wrote in another candidate, he was an independent. This time I will be voting for Romney. That is what being an independent is all about. Not disguising yourself because you are too afraid to say what you really are. You vote for whatever candidate you think will be better for the country, no matter if they are a democrat or republican. Now, since I am a Social Conservative, I look at their morals as well.
