I just visited Chicago last weekend, and the tour guide pointed out that, although the Sears Tower has officially been renamed, it will always be known as the Sears Tower.

I have to say that I've been (pleasantly) surprised with the DUmmies and the jubilee - attacking monarchies has been the number one occupation of leftists ever since the French Revolution (potentially even the English revolution of the 1640s), but they haven't been as hate-filled and vicious about Her Majesty as I might have expected...if the DUmp has more Brits I suspect that the atmosphere would have become more toxic as our leftists like to out-hate each other when it comes to the monarchy.

Properly, Big Ben is the the name of the biggest bell inside the Westminster Clock Tower, the one that sounds the hourly chime.

Somehow the name has been applied to the clock and to the tower itself.
