Sure, the Christian Right Champions Religious Freedom – For Themselves

It is interesting (I’m trying to watch my language here) to see so-called “religious freedom” proponents cite the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause while opposing the Obama administration’s Health and Human Services contraceptive mandate. They complain their religious freedoms are being violated but without batting an eye and without a trace of embarrassment continue to press their agenda – a 100% religiously-based agenda – on the rest of America.

No, you can’t have contraceptives because they violate our beliefs; no, you can’t have an abortion, no, not even if you were raped, because it violates our beliefs; no, you can’t even learn about contraception because it violates our beliefs – our beliefs only allow you to learn about abstinence; no, you can’t marry someone of the same sex because it violates our beliefs.

An example of this outrageous rhetoric is an opinion piece at CNN by Mary Matalin, “Religious liberty at stake in battle over contraception rule,” Ms. Matalin’s bio in short: “a founding member of the board of Conscience Cause, a coalition opposing the Department of Health and Human Services’ mandate, has worked for Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush and was counselor to Vice President Dick Cheney.” Her credentials pretty much tell the entire story, because there ain’t no surprises here.

The only thing on that list that anyone wants to ban is abortion. I don't know a single person wanting to ban contraception, they just don't think they should have to pay for Sandra Fluke's contraception.

1. They misuse the term "religious freedom"

Their "religious freedom" gives THEM the right to follow THEIR faith journey as THEY choose for THEMSELVES. This does not include their employees, their patients, their neighbors, or their students. If they don't want to use birth control or have an abortion, that is their faith decision. The concept of "religious freedom" does not grant them the right to deny religious freedom to others who disagree.

What gives you the right to demand that they pay for it? You fools can not comprehend what the whole thing is about. You buy into the false notion that not wanting to pay for something that the individual should provide for themselves is somehow a ban. Is it Prohibition if you refuse to buy beer for me?

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

THEM, THEIR, THEY, THEMSELVES.

Ok, I get it...they, them, their and themselves are not you DUmbasses. It's obviously the enemy from your standpoint.

But what you continue to forget is a couple of facts...

It's their faith and it's their service.

If you DUmbasses insist on degrading faith, service follows.

You must be so proud, do you DUmbass sycophants even understand what you are doing.

If you folkes are so sure about yourselves, don't ever go to a religious medical institution to save your life.

This is exactly where they wish to go. Better odds.  O-)

Don't want to follow Catholic (or Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopal, etc) religious policies? Don't be one, or work for them. How ****ing hard is that? ****ing seriously, DUmbasses, how hard is that to understand? No one is forced to do so, so, if you choose to associate with a religious organization, you're going to have to follow their rules, no matter how much you disagree.

And another thing, I have yet to hear any religious group that wants to ban all contraception for everybody. So that's a ****ing non-sequitur. As for the abortion or gay marriage thing, yeah, but so ****ing what? That's their right. Personally, neither of those things bother me and I could care less that they happen, because there is **** all I can do to stop it if I cared to. But if people want to do so, so ****ing be it.

Sorry that people think differently. I know how much that blows your little reptilian brains, but thems the breaks. And because I'm such a giving person, I'll help you cope... Down the road, not across the street.

Libs are capable of creating new rights at any time. Don't worry about them ever creating a right that they will have to pay for any newly created rights.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

That doesn't mean she doesn't have the Constitional right to be scraped and purged of that clump of cells.

This DUmmie is using two words that are completely foreign to the DUmp.

Religion and freedom.

True religious freedom allows one person to believe in God and one person not to...and have that be 100% completely ok.

And this is where the DUmmies brain starts to hurt because they can't stand religion and their idea of freedom is being able to do what the Government allows them to do.

Listen up you ****ING IDIOTS, you can buy all the ****ing birth control you want just respect (I know that's a hard word to understand when someone doesn't think EXACTLY like you) churches rights to NOT go against their sacred beliefs. I'm not Catholic and I can certainly respect their POV. And I have the mental capacity to understand when you say something utterly, soul-chillingly stupid like "well the insurance companies will pay for it then" and don't understand that the employer and/or school pays at least a portion of that insurance...thus they're paying for something that violates the tenants of their religion...thus their 1st Amendment rights are being violated. I swear, you guys have to work damn hard to be that obtuse. A second grader could understand this concept in about 10 minutes.

The strongest argument against abortion is not religious at all...it is the fact that the aborted child is quite obviously human, therefore has a right to life.  This is a combination of biology and our founding documents.

The strongest argument against gay marriage is also the children, and society in general.  Our society has destroyed the lives of millions of children through "free love," quick divorce, and the social and government support of single parents.  No matter how dedicated, neither one parent nor 2 "same sex parents" can function as both mother and father to a child, and every study proves that children do better with their own, biological mother and father in their homes.  The best thing we can do for our children and the future of our country is to rein in the selfishness among adults and refocus on the priority of sacrificing our selfish wants to the need for raising civilized citizens.

Not bad -- Claiming something as a 'right' that isn't in The Constitution or the BOR, dehumanization by referencing 'clump of cells' which implies that said clump has no rights, and bonus points for the inclusion of 'wymyn'. My only critique is you did not reference me to a website where I could educate myself, nor did you attack me personally.

Id give it an 8 out of 10.
