If the Republicans were to win the Senate and the White House...?
And, God forbid, keep the House!

What could we anticipate for the next 2 or 4 years?

Would the deficit go down? Would we spend more on defense? Would the poverty level for children go up? What programs would they cut?

Would the Democrats be able to stop any of their agenda?

This is an awful thought but it could happen if the Democrats do not get to the polls in large numbers. The re-call election in Wisconsin in a couple of weeks will tell us a lot...

This uncertainty is like a political purgatory of sorts. Especially when the Republican Leader, Boehner, threatens to shut down the government again, after they caused the credit-rating downgrade just last year.

I guess we should all just try to stay positive? I know it is difficult to do sometimes...

4. Too awful to contemplate, so don't.

Instead, devote as much time as you can to electing Obama or Congressional Dems--pick a favorite campaign, give it your all as a volunteer, and trust that everyone else on the side of good is doing the same thing.
You failed Omaha Steve. Keep up the good work. :-)

Ah ha, here's one.

6. It's gonna be Hell on Earth

I would seriously start thinking about becoming and illegal alien in another country. If it does happen, I kind of hope changes take effect immediately. Let these Teabaggers support their aging parents, fight the poor on the streets. I know it includes us too, but if we leave then it won't be our problem anymore. If the election is this close after ALL the evidence shows the Repukes aren't on our (human) side, maybe this country is done once and for all. Let the religious right take over and ruin it even more. Let the idiots run the Asylum.

With all the fracking getting ready to ruin our drinking water, it might not take the Repukes to make this land unlivable. Although they would probably allow fracking in more places.

7. Women would lose more rights

That's practically guaranteed since they're losing rights as we speak in dozens of states already.
Such as?  Name one.

Standard lies then follow.

When they talk about their precious programs, there is never any mention about whether they can be afforded.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Unemployment would go down because Romney would promote a business friendly environment which would be a win for the business owner and a win for those looking for a job, gas prices would go down because we would scare the heck out of OPEC, and people would be less dependent on Government for things like housing and food stamps. You'd think they'd vote Mitt for these reasons alone.

A GDP growth of 4% in 2013 and real job creation. In 2014, we could bump up into a 5%+ GDP growth and 300.00+/- new jobs created.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Still trying to wrap my brain around this one, are the DUmmies seriously blaming the Republicans for the U.S. credit downgrade?  They had just taken control of the house & house ONLY.

That fiasco is on the Dems, I think even most rational people on the left agree.

The first downside of this would be that we would have a budget passed.  How long has it been, primitives, since we've had that?  It was awful!!

I can think of a few other downsides as well.

Stop, you know the kiddies believe you.

You should have seen the threads at FR about the Walmart/Haliburton re-education camps back in 2005.  The DUmmies were more than positive Bush was going to round up all liberal political "disidents" and declare Marshall Law.  We had these morons believing Haliburton was building subterranean facilities under Walmart stores. They fell for it so completely, THEY posted pics of these so called "camps", which were nothing more than parking lots with razor wire on top of chain link fences.   :lmao:

These would serve as a detainment/re-education facility as well as supplying Walmart with slave labor to manufacture the products sold in the store.   :lmao:
