Walker up by 9-points in new WI Recall poll, WI Dems upset with DNC

I thought when Walker polled almost as many votes in his meaningless primary as the Dems did in their competitive primary that he has more support than we have been willing to admit. However, I still think we can win it, but it will be hard work and a big grass roots effort--I will be making calls all this weekend:

With that in mind, what better way to celebrate Mothers Day than by asking 1,219 likely Wisconsin voters who they plan to elect on June 5? Here are the results:

Poll type:: Automated Date: 5/13//2012 - Participants: 1,219 Likely voters - Margin of Error: ± 2.81%
 Candidate Percent
Walker 52%
Barrett 43%

Undecided 5%

While other polls also show Walker in the lead, no one is suggesting that this race is anywhere near over. Walker only leads among self-described Independent voters by 47.6%-44.6%, and the underlying numbers seem fluid. Still, some of Walker’s detractors have been vocal about the fact that Walker was duly elected in 2010 and in most states would not be able to be challenged with a recall without greater cause. And a whopping 95% of those called said they plan to vote in the June 5th election which will have the national spotlight on it.

(not sure about how valid this poll is)

Wisconsin Democrats Frustrated with Lack of DNC Support
Greg Sargent: "Top Wisconsin Democrats are furious with the national party -- and the Democratic National Committee in particular -- for refusing their request for a major investment in the battle to recall Scott Walker... The failure to put up the money Wisconsin Dems need to execute their recall plan comes at a time when the national Republican Party is sinking big money into defending Walker, raising fears that the DNC's reluctance could help tip the race his way.

Come on Mr. President, get involved and raise some ads and do some commercials and maybe even visit the state in support of Barrett!!!

Last comment had to be an attempt by WI DEM to save face. Big bonfire. I'll be even bigger with more of them covering GD come June 6th. I'm going to absolutely relish it.

15. Think there's a chance Romney might pick him for a running mate if he does survive?

YES! Romney/Walker '12! We can't lose.

YES! Romney/Walker '12! We can't lose.

As much as I like the guy, he has a job to complete in WI. He started a tidal wave that spread to MI and IN, with IN becoming a right to work state.

He needs to rally the troops in WI so Romney can take the state.

There is 36 Republican Governors, each and every one of them have a important job to do.

I would hope for someone like Rubio, to pull in the Latino vote or Allen West to snatch FL from obama and the democrat scum in Palm Beach.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I'd rather Walker stay in Wisconsin and turn the State around, we need as many Republican Governors as possible to turn their States around, let Brown and California go bankrupt, but we need Republican Governors of Blue States to get the job done and possibly turn the States Red.

I actually don't think that Rubio will get it.  I see Romney staying with a "safe" choice, such as Rob Portman of Ohio.  But, if I had to put forth a choice with no chance of happening, I'd choose Julius Caesar Watts from Oklahoma.  I don't think he'd do it, but he'd run rings around Biden in the VP debate.

Take 30+ electoral votes out of the obama column and put them in the Romney column and the 60+ EV swing makes Rubio look pretty attractive.

Yeah, but there's the whole "natural born citizen" thing.  Yeah, he looks attractive, but why have the stipulation in the Constitution if neither political party is going to follow it?

What are you talking about? Rubio was born in Miami, and has the BC to prove it.

I think him or Allen West would be a brilliant choice for VP. Hugely popular in a (damn near) must-win state, far enough to the right of Romney to be a moderating influence, and fresh enough to DC not to have been co-opted by the establishment. I'd prefer Allen West, because I'd relish Joe Biden talking about his departure from the military during the debate. It'd be epic: "Mr Vice President, I took the actions that I did knowingly and willingly. I did it to save the lives of American Soldiers who would otherwise have been ambushed. I would do it again in a second. What have you personally done to save the lives of American Soldiers so they could return home to their families?"

The "natural born citizen" definition stipulates that the parents have had to be born in the US as well.  Also, I'd love to see Allen West, but I don't think he'd do it.  J. C. Watts won't.

OMG, I saw that picture earlier today when I rowed over.
Spit coffee on my machine. :lmao:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

The other day I was thinking, what if the 'rats decide to trot out some out-of-stater in a feeble attempt to jump-start the heart of this dead movement? Who would they turn to? Who from the national spotlight would resonate with the 'rat voters, yet not backfire and energize Walker supporters even more?

They had Jessie Jackson and Dick Trumka show up at the original protests. I think their appearance galvanized Walker supporters even more.

I don't think they have anyone. No young, energetic figures with fresh ideas. They're clamoring for the magic one to interfere, but he knows if he does he'll have no chance in WI come Nov.

Nope. Remember D. W. Schultz is a redskin.

She'll campaign through the Wisconsin injun reservations, not with a "thunder butt", but with a trunk full of "thunderbird".

Hannity reported today that the DNC pulled out of Wisconsin.
