35. You know, you should just put me on ignore

and I am going to put you on ignore. Mostly, this is a borderline personal attack. And mostly, no jury will see it. So you found your easy way to ignore. Have a great and wonderful, long live.

BYE.

Add another to the 'iggy' list.  The Crazy Bald Dwarf still can't put together a coherent sentence either.

39. Actually no... there are vey rare cases

where disorders, very much at the genetic level, and so rare that it is not even funny, where food intake has little to none to do with it. They are so rare though that most of the people who have them actually do not survive to adulthood. The exception to this not surviving to adulthood, and a tad more common, is Down Syndrome.

But I am sure you probably did not know that.

It's like she thinks telling someone she is putting them on ignore is going to break their heart  :???:

I do tend to agree with her assessment of some obese people though. For some, there are self-control/discipline issues and that affects other areas of their life so that to me is a seperate issue--not necessarily mental health related, but poor self-discipline in general--same reason people don't bathe regularly or pay their bills on time(barring financial reasons) etc.

Many of the others have emotional problems like anxiety and depression that they do self-medicate with food. Thing is those conditions can be self-medicated with exercise too. Both will release the needed hormone to bring balance.

I'm torn on this issue because I get irritated by the first that use the 2nd as an excuse, but i feel for the 2nd category that get demeaned and shit on and really need some help with the emotional issues to find more positive ways to deal with those things. I wish assholes would stop latching on to valid conditions to justify their own lack of self-discipline and laziness.

The irony is that almost every antidepressant causes weight gain but I can only speak to my experience. It doesn't happen to everyone and I don't know how they affect people who only have to be on them for short periods of time. Most (myself included) will tell you they don't eat any more than they did before they went on them. I'm absolutely anal about writing down what I eat & and exercise 6 days a week...(hard). I eat a Paleo diet because grains go right to my hips.

I work hard at maintaining my weight because having bipolar depression and being thin is MUCH better than having it and being fat. On days when I'm really depressed I have to absolutely FORCE myself to exercise. I don't always win. A lot of people actually go off their meds for a while because they gain too much weight. Going on and off meds makes you crazy. Getting your brain chemistry balanced is infinitely better than the temporary fix you get from overeating. But it's a trade off. That's not to say many people don't use their depression as an excuse to not improve their lives but it IS a daily struggle.

So I absolutely agree with you about people who use an illness they don't have to make excuses for their weight especially since getting up and moving produces endorphins that immediately improve your mood. But people with depression shouldn't be let off the hook either. If all you can do is 10 sit ups or a few squats, that's a start and gives you a sense of accomplishment...something people with depressed people must find to live productive lives. Wallowing in your depression is a crutch to NOT change your life. What's the point of taking meds to improve your mood if you aren't going to help yourself.

Note to DUmmies: As per your requirements, I'm completely qualified and have a right to speak about this topic. Thus, I'm perfectly within my rights to say those of you who use your illness as a reason to not change your life are pathetic.

Wellbutrin doesn't cause weight gain. ;-)

Wasn't on it due to anti-depression, trust me, I like being an asshole, but it was "supposed" to help me stop smoking. Yeah, didn't happen, but I have no appetite an am horny as ****. :stirpot:

She also completely ignores that there are people who have difficulty GAINing weight due to metabolism. I fought for years to get to a so-called healthy weight, not because of any eating disorder, but because I simply had a very rapid metabolism. So, accoriding to her, I would be anorexic, period. Glad she's not an actual dr!

She may have been a doctor in the past.  Check her resume.  It might be on there.

Doesn't have the sexual side effects either. I'm on Wellbutrin, Lamictal & Adderall/DUmmie mode off...just went cold turkey off Effexor which has horrid side effects (weight gain and takes freaking forever to have an orgasm) but works very well for depression. Going off it is why I was here so infrequently the past week. Was going insane and didn't want to take the rest of you with me...lol. My doc wanted me to step down gradually but the results are the same...stopping completely sucks. I didn't see any reason in prolonging the inevitable. Never doing that again.

I used it to stop a 30 year, 2 pk a day habit. It worked the 1st attempt.

It worked for my wife too.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Me also, as a kid I was often asked if my family fed me.

Most I weighed pregnant was about 105 - 110, one of my kids after water broke entering the hospital to deliver them, the receptionest when I told her I was having a baby asked " When 7 months from now"   as I had to keep my knees together to prevent the baby from falling out .

I tried for years to gain weight, I even drank Slim Fast on breaks with cheese and crackers for extra calories.  Finally I quit smoking and went on a high carbo diet, lots of butter,  { close your eyes Frank }   fat, deep oil fried, after 4 years of this I gained 5 pounds.

Now after 3 years of very limited exercise I have finally reached 120. Gees, and with age I am shrinking in height so  at my time in life I now have the perkey boobs I wanted when young but am too old to wave them about.

Darn boobs are just fat deposits, but I missed out on the show your boobs at rallies, to do that today would clear a biker bar in seconds.

People are people, we are never satisfied with what we are, too fat, to thin, so we tattoo our body's, dye our hair purple, shave our heads, legs, pits and our privates.

It never hurts to work on body maintenance but to insist others do so at a cost to their health while not doing so to their own body's is down right weird.

Last thing we need is a short, fat, bald anyone criticizing our looks.-----A kin to a drag queen pointing out that a female professional model has big feet.

I agree!  For me, I was finally able to achieve a "normal" weight after two back surgeries with a month of bedrest and NO exercise other than walking for 6 months following each. Didn't change my eating habits, which led to a 20 lb. weight increase. Then I cried the first time I had to buy "double digit" (size 10) pants. So, at almost 40, I am watching what I eat for the first time in my life. UGH

I think you are so right that we are never satisfied with what we look like, just trying to adjust.
