We watched all 3 Terminator movies (again) this weekend. Skynet is here.
I know the movies were "science fiction", but what part of the current doesn't follow the same path?

Wasn't so long ago you were calling the star of your allegory "Gropenator"

Watched "Rollerball" last night, eerily prophetic.

The original James Caan one from 1976 (not the bad remake). It uses the premise of Corporations taking over as a result of Corporate wars, bringing stability in exchange for freedom. Shock Doctrine anyone? A world were the Corporations rule for the benefit of the corporate elite, where decisions are made without recourse and the people are interchangeable parts has amazing resonance.

I, for one, love going to the Rollerball arena to watch countries fight by chasing around a steel ball. Oh, wait, that's ****ING NOTHING LIKE ANYTHING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD, except in the mind of a DUmbass.

For people who are supposed to be so intelligent and well-read, they watch a couple of movies or read a couple of sci-fi novels, and then they go home and desperately try to hammer the world into the one that enchanted them for a couple of hours.

That doesn't make you SMART, DUmmies...it makes you PATHETIC and EASILY LED.

(ps - Shrek isn't an allegory for the subjugation of Native and Latin American indigenous peoples, Judi Lynn...might as well go have another Chavez Jizz Shake)
