Senate GOP blocks Obama's 'Buffett rule'

Senate Republicans blocked President Obama's so-called "Buffett Rule," as the proposed minimum tax rate for millionaires failed to advance in a procedural vote Monday.

The measure received majority support, 51-45, but 60 votes were required for the legislation to advance.

The anti-climactic outcome was no surprise to anyone in a vote that was designed more to win over voters and embarrass senators in close races than to push legislation into law.

Sometimes I think it would do them more damage to the DemonRats to just smile and give them what they asked for, then feed it back to them when it fails.  Unfortunately, a sizable chunk of the electorate seems to have the analytic skills and attention span of a chicken, so that probably wouldn't work in practice.

The MSM would blame the republicans for the failed policies of the DemonRats.

What's funny is, the libs/dems/socialists were already spending the 47 billion on graft type shovel ready projects INSTEAD of applying it to the out of control debt. It just shows to go you where lib priorities lay.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Here is what will happen if the Buffet rule happens, the dems will see another 5 billion or so in projected revenue increases, so they will spend an additional 30 billion.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Just want to make it clear to the Buffett jackasses of the world -- you can still give all  your money to Uncle Sam.   Please don't let this vote discourage you from doing so.

Obama encourages you give until it hurts, and I am sure will lead by example.

The liberal douchebags are all crying in their beers now. Obama is toast this year. If that goon gets re-elected, I will be very surprised.

I think we should be very wary of another Executive Order, to just bypass the entire Congress.

Let's go for a modified Buffet Tax...a tax on Warren Buffet, only.

And any other millionaire that agrees with him.  Hell, let's make that 30% tax apply to everyone that thinks it is a good idea regardless of their income level. Sauce for the goose and all that.

Why limit to 30%, if it's so great?

Yeah, if it is so great, why don't they give 91%?
