Anyone other than me sick of all the 'cat' threads that get posted in GD?

The GD SOP:

Discuss politics, issues, and current events. No posts about Israel/Palestine, religion, guns, showbiz, or sports unless there is really big news. No conspiracy theories. No whining about DU.

In my opinion 'NO CATS' should be added to the SOP

I love cats, I love dogs. Just not in GD.

4. Its the dog stories that are annoying to me

The typical heroic dog story and the other types (the ones I label the "awww" dog stories for example) that get posted often that I find annoying.

The cat stories don't bother me, but then, I tend to hate dogs and love cats so I'm biased. I could write a treatise about all the things I like about cats and in contrast, dislike about dogs but um, I'll stop here.

why people post them in GD.

I can understand that people like to post stuff in a main forum for more visibility and that groups may not provide that visibility. But the Lounge is a main forum and that's where these belong.

What's up with having to put lounge material in GD? Anyone know? Cause I can't make sense out of what the reason could be.

I agree with the lounge posts belonging in the lounge. I do often feel sorry though for those who absolutely NEED so much attention, they must be awfully lonely.

Actually, what's pathetic is--and remember I like cats (but not as much as dogs) too, but don't think cat campfires belong in General Discussion on Skins's island--that the primitives' cat campfires are more interesting, more erudite, more coherent, than the primitives' political campfires.

I don't know why they complain...these are the same people who can post a million Trayvon threads and say the same thing in every thread and not get tired of it.

Compromise is what is needed, Go to the LOL Cat site, and caption your own. If the kitties hate on Bush then they would be acceptable.
