Obama: ‘Congress Would Get More Done If There Were More Women’

By Annie-Rose Strasser

President Obama spoke at a forum on women and the economy today, following the White House release of a 65-page report (PDF) on the same topic this morning. In a speech that played on the public arguments about a GOP’s “war on women,” the President took the opportunity to argue in front of the largely-female audience that Congress would be more productive if there were more women legislators.

“Fewer than 20 percent of the seats in Congress are occupied by women. Is it possible that Congress would get more done if there were more women in congress?” he asked. “I think it’s fair to say: That is almost guaranteed.” Watch it:

Bill Clinton agrees in spirit, although I believe his quote was "we need some more ***** in this mother****er."

Imagine if all of both houses of congress were women.  Can you imagine 535 women being in synch with PMS?  We'd declare war once a month.

Now Obama can truthfully say that he has the most transparent administration in history.
We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again.

Why do they see the need to obsess about these various categories?

When I vote I don't care whether the candidates are men or women; black, white, or even white-latino; or whatever - I just want to know whether their views match my own and whether they'd be a good representative for me in the particular body being elected.

My M.P. is a woman, and I'm basically happy with the job she does - I didn't vote for her at the last election because I thought that the Conservative Party (under whose banner she stood) was being far too wussy and centrist.

Nuclear disaster and 535 different reasons why it's all your fault.

Division along class, race, ethnicity, and gender are the bread and butter of the Democrat party, taking up the banner of whichever group represents the most possible votes for them.  This does get the disaffected parties who are the targeted 'bad guys' of their division to vote on the other side to some degree, but this is part of their calculus and also a convenient tool to falsely smear the Republicans and other Conservatives as racists, sexists, etc. since (As their narrative essentially goes) because those bad people don't support the Democrats, and Republicans don't support the Democrats, the two groups are therefore the same.

What Obama is doing to women is the antithesis of feminism, and they are too gullible to even see it.  If I was viewed as being a poor wittle little namby pamby woman, incapable of not only securing my own birth control, but also demanding that mean old men pay for it, I'd tell them to kiss my ass.

I did NOT have any hand in creating this. I'm just posting it as it seems to go along with one of the above posts. <ducks and runs>

Speaking as a woman...I cannot tolerate working with an office full of them. The one's that I've worked with have been the most back-stabbing/gossiping/talk behind your back people I've ever seen. My sister worked in an office with a majority of women, and every time I walked in that office you could cut the tension in there with a butter knife. I'm sure it's not like that everywhere; but that's been my experience.

But, I am more of a tomboy and prefer to talk sports instead of hair and makeup and relationships....maybe I just didn't fit in with the women I worked with.

I get along with MEN much better then I do with women, and I get along with gay men better then everyone for some reason. I do love to talk about hair and make-up with other women at times though. The worst bosses I've ever had were women.

While I am Girly and like to be pretty with makeup and clothes, I can't stand working with women.  I was the only girl in my unit in the Seabees and I work in a male dominated field.  Women are just ruthless and mean when in a gaggle.  The women here do seem to be different and I appreciate that.
