stations now that these "religious" outfits, such as Pat Robertson's sham, require me to have their bigotry and hatred channeled into my home...

What if my child is exposed to these hate mongers while surfing through the channels. How am I going to explain that some people hide behind religion in order to support a political agenda that "we" don't agree with.

No parent should have to answer those awful questions such as why does that old man smile while he talks about hate and prejudice...

And what about me having to pay higher taxes to fund the government because all of these religious groups I don't agree with get tax write offs...

and I can't figure out how to get that for her. Netflix takes care of me just fine for everything I can't get on the net, which isn't much but movies and old brit/sitcoms I like.

Netflix for streaming movies, missed frontlines/american experience and Hulu for Daily show, Colbert and some TV.

Don't fell like I am missing a thing.

Fixed ---- BUT

Notice that Conservatives aren't stating that CUrreNT TV, MSNBC, etc etc need to be removed from the airwaves. We simply don't watch and let TV ratings make the case for us.

Demanding stations and programs be removed from the airwaves is something only you folks do -

In short, you work to limit free speech for organizations with which you disagree.

Edited to add :

I forgot to mention - If you are afraid your kid might see some dastardly religious guy on the television, why don't you just block the networks or programs out ? Its easy enough to do, regardless of which cable carrier you have.

Ive done that with my kids TV - they can get no show on any network with a heavier than PG 13 rating, They can order no PPV events or channels, and there are a few shows that I find so bad mannered, I went ahead and blocked them too.  If I could figure this out as a " stupid knuckledraggin' rethug ", I'm certain that an enlightened liberal such as yourself can suss out the procedure.

I didn't like a lot of the leftist drivel on television, so solved it by cancelling cable.  We have Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and rent movies.  I never felt any need to try to get Maher or Maddow off the air, figure their hate and stupidity will doom them in time.

Of course, if the OP had actually watched religious programming, he would have been terribly disappointed.  No hate or contraception anywhere...   :-) :-)

And as I posted above, the solution is just so simple - don't watch, and prevent your kids from watching by blocking the networks that offend tender primitive sensibilities. Simple. But the primitives don't want that, do they ? They want to limit what everyone else watches....

If you are really concerned about your child being exposed hate mongers you should definitely make sure that DU is blocked.

Re a family of Whites in WV, check out "The Wild And Wonderful Whites" on Netflix. It's unforgettable. If you've seen "The Dancing Outlaw", about Jesco White, you know what to expect. It's amazing.
