Why are the tables or desks or whatever they are so short in the CNN debate tonight?

I don't think he did as well as on other debates. He got caught with a remark about no child left behind---said he doesn't approve of it now, but he voted for it to "take one for the team". The others retorted (think it was Ron Paul) that their job is to take a stand and not go along with the party.

Newt was great, Romney didn't make any mistakes, Paul was just Paul, Dr Nutz, particularly about his beliefts on those dear, sweet misunderstood people in Iran.  :whatever:

romney "speaking" is a mistake.
i just  saw a few clips on breitbart. seemed like everytime newt talked, mitt tried to jump in to speak when the crowd was clapping, either to steal the glory or feed off of the fired up crowd. im not sure which. lord knows mitt couldnt fire up a crowd if he tried.

A crowd could fire Mitt up, maybe.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I watched the debate tonight, since I have to go vote in Tuesday's primary.  Still confused about which way to go, all have strengths and weaknesses.  Well, not considering Ron Paul, who reminds me of the crazy uncle in the attic even when what he's saying would make sense if someone else were saying it.  And Mittens has changed his positions alot, Newt would've been better off being caught in flagrante delicto with some hooker than to have sat on a tuffet with Ms. Botox in that climate change commercial, hmm, looks like I may well vote for Santorum.

Anyone want to help me out here with their ideas about which one of these candidates stands the best chance of beating Lord Zer0?

well mitt said we wants to make the 1% pay their fair share, so that would steal votes from obama.
newt still has his baggage
ron's still ron
and santorum still has his moral convictions.

I like Newt's quality of thinking for the most part but he's an arrogant self-indulgent prick and has committed a couple of incredible stupidities in his public life, like the sit-down with Lady Skeletor and consistently backing every RINO against a TEA Partier in the 2010 primaries.  Romney has all the steadfast, principled conviction of Bill Clinton.  At this point I'd have to go with Rick.

I agree with going with Santorum at this point. IF he can Rubio to be his VP, I think the GOP would have a much better chance.

I'm starting to get worried that Obama will get re-elected, because the GOP not only can't get their shit together, the choices are not optimal.....

Thanks everyone who responded! :cheersmate:
Yeah, I can't stand Mitt and while Newt would shellac Zer0 in a debate, my husband pointed out since the media is in his corner any one on one would be weighted against Newt.  Plus, his personal life has been pretty awful and his choice of associates...

I hadn't thought of Rubio as a potential VP candidate, but he would be an immense asset to the ticket.  Deb, you are right on in fearing an Obama victory if the Republicans can't coalesce around a GOOD candidate.

Sigh.  I guess I'm voting for Rick Santorum and crossing my fingers his VP pick gets me more excited than he does.  At least he doesn't give me the creeps the way Mitt does-I swear he's a living exemplar of Uriah Heep.

On the plus side, Rick is at least a whole lot more exciting than our last pick, McCain.  It was only picking Sarah as a running mate that brought winning that campaign into the realm of even remote possibility.

yeah i agree. the GOP needs to get their shit together NOW, so the Democrat/Media Complex cant run the general election like last time. thats whats needed to stop Obummer from getting reelected.
