Agent Provocateur

Traditionally, an agent provocateur (plural: agents provocateurs, French for "inciting agent(s)") is a person employed by the police or other entity to act undercover to entice or provoke another person to commit an illegal act. More generally, the term may refer to a person or group that seeks to discredit or harm another by provoking them to commit a wrong or rash action.

As a known tool to prevent infiltration by agents provocateurs, the organizers of large or controversial assemblies may deploy and coordinate demonstration marshals, also called stewards.

<...>

United States

In the United States, the COINTELPRO program of the Federal Bureau of Investigation had FBI agents pose as political radicals to disrupt the activities of political groups in the U.S., such as the Black Panthers, Ku Klux Klan, and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee.

New York City police officers were accused of acting as agents provocateurs during protests against the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City.

Denver police officers were also found to have used undercover detectives to instigate violence against police during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. This ultimately resulted in the use of pepper spray against their own infiltrating agents.

Yes. The threat of agent provocateurs is real. The 1% and their quislings would like nothing more than to discredit the movement and I'm almost 100% sure that the burning of the flag in Oakland was done by agent provocateurs.

That's what I always considered my mole on Skins's island.

An agent provocateur.

I always wanted to be one in real life, too--exceptional skills at it--but the CIA won't take deaf people, no matter how good we are.

Oh, by all MEANS let's talk about Agent Provocateur, Cali_Dim:

Agent Provocateur sales boosted by US First Lady Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama has risked the wrath of cash-strapped Americans by indulging in a $50,000 shopping spree at Agent Provocateur.

The First Lady is better known for shopping at more modestly priced High Street brands. But along with the the Queen of Qatar, Sheikha Mozah, she closed off part of Madison Avenue to spend time in the luxury lingerie shop.

Their purchases contributed to a market-spanking 12.5pc lift in sales.

Agent Provocateur, which is styled on vintage Hollywood glamour, sells handmade Calais lace corsets that sell for up to £900, which could ruffle the feathers of more than just President Obama in an election year.

Garry Hogarth, Agent Provocateur’s chief executive, refused to be drawn on the stores’ closely kept “secret client list”. But he admitted the brand had attracted a high number of “unexpected famous names” – especially in the US, where sales have overtaken the UK. ...more at link

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Well, I say all these dedicated Progressive activists at OWS events ought just beat the living snot out of any agents-provocateur who try to ruin their peaceful, loving, healing-white-light-emitting protests!

THAT'll show 'em!

To some people, $50K worth of underwear might seem excessive, but remember, we're talking about the First Wookie here.

It takes a hell of a lot of material to cover that ass.

$50K of lingerie and another $50K of liquor just might make it bearable, at least you shouldn't remember anything.

$50k in clothes is peanuts.  The woman wasted $4 million of our money on a Christmas vacation.

I used to call myself "Agent Provocatuer".  Had business cards made up. Had a list of things I could do if renumerated properly.

Things like Incite Riots, Start Revolutions, Ruin Economies.

Y'know, things like Barrack Obama's doing right now. He ruined the market.

I would not be surprised to find that Agent Provocateurs were used extensively by the SDS in the '60's. And I am sure the tactic will be employed again in Recreate 68 operations.  How else do you get the cows (useful idiots) to move in the correct direction?

Ah, "Agents provocateurs." Aka ultra- liberal morons' favorite excuse to try and dismiss the psycho radicals on their side that engage in violence and lawlessness.
Meanwhile, in real life, it is well- documented that many liberal groups (Including DUmmies) have attempted to "infiltrate" Tea Party demonstrations waving racist signs in a pathetic attempt to frame the Tea Partiers for racism.

One advantage to the liberal freaks' crying about "Agents provocateurs" is that, similar to the incessant "Troll/ mole" hunts the DUmmies go on, it causes a great deal of hilarious paranoia and dissension in the ranks to develop among the Occupiers, as they begin accusing anyone and everyone of being a traitor. When they can't even trust each other, they fall apart even faster than normal.

The sixties were so much fun in that regard.  Paranoia ran deep in those groups. Sometimes justified sometimes not.   Being stoned didn't help because you never knew why the man might be at the door. :stoner:

They're everywhere!!!!! :panic: :panic:

Whether it's the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks, the excising of Trotsky...or going further back the French Revolution turning back in on itself eventually killing even Robespierre - the hunt for traitors to the cause, and blaming them for the failures of the grand project is a central theme of the left.
