The marinas out here are very nice...and expensive. Sucks to know that there are so many DUmpmonkeys in my area. When I was growing up the Channel Islands (which are mostly due south of Santa Barbara) were open and were working ranches. You could go ashore and hike around wherever you wanted. Then the environmentals got a hold of them and you can't. Just more liberty and freedom lost to the zealotry. The east side of Santa Cruz is controlled by the parks department and you can camp and hike out there. When that was in private hands I used to mountain bike out there. One time we got near the barbed wire fence that the Nature Conservancy put around their property and got shot at.
BTW, while normal citizens cannot go and appreciate the Nature Conservancy's land, if you give them a big enough donation you can go out there anytime. More proof that Liberalism is nothing more than eliminating the middle class of America.
