Sorry coach, but anyone who 1--married nads, 2--STAYS married to her, has deep underlying issues and is deserving of all the crap one has thrown their way.  Trust me, on the boat, this would be considered friendly advice.

You don't want to know how vicious people can get on the boat sometimes.

It ain't always cup cakes and ice cream underway?  Who'd a thunk it. And for what it's worth, not everyone in the military is a Republican or Conservative.  I knew plenty of Moonbats on active in the '70's, there were even more in the '80's and 90's serving in Guard and Reserve units.  A former Moonbat SY commander was even a Dem State Senator over in Maine.

Hubby could well be a retied Moonbat or he could be in total denial.  It's not like she's been pole dancing at the Officer's or Enlisted Club, right? [scary a thought as that might be]

Also there are levels of vicious.  The guy who stuffs the Filipino mess-man in a steam kettle is one kind ( he took offense to the guy pissing in the salad) The kind who follows a Chief around with a 12 inch crescent is another.  Then there is the guy who kept his pet boa in the engine room because he hew his First Class was terrified of snakes.  For simple head games you have the type who signs his 'buddy' up for Gay Porn delivery, just what a new bride needs to receive when hubby is deployed.

Which kind were you thinking of?

Well, excresence.

I'm going to write the award with the idea in mind that he honestly doesn't know.

Two things--he looks utterly professional, the sort of guy one would trust not only with maneuvering a nuclear submarine three times as long as a football field through dark treacherous waters, but also to pilot on "stand-by" a B-52 airplane with a 40-megaton atomic bomb on board, or to lead a thousand divisions of infantrymen ashore on beaches.

Cool confidence oozes out of every pore there.

I'm guessing he's probably the number-three or number-four man in the post office at San Diego; a few steps below the Postmaster General there.  Not the top man, but pretty high up.

He doesn't look stupid; he doesn't look like the type who'd endorse certain, uh, activities of his wife.

So I'm guessing he honestly doesn't know.

As for your other comment, two more things.

Maybe he was glassy-eyed drunk while at port down in Mexico when he met and married her.

Just about everybody once in a while gets drunk and does things that aren't good for him.

And having married her, rather than taking the easy way out and discarding her when he was sober again, he manned up to what he'd done, and has the Christian fortitude and forbearance to live with the consequences.

I said maybe. I assume he knows about her various reporting activities, not so sure he knowsof the full depths of her insanity on DU. I mean, c'mon, when DU thinks you're a crazy, know-it-all busybody, anyone has to notice something's up.

Okay, writing of the award's now underway, circa 10:30 a.m. central time, out here in the Sandhills.

I dunno how long it's going to take--it'll be posted immediately as it gets done--and I'm hoping to keep it shorter than the award for the #03 top primitive.

But there's going to be an interruption in the labors--the neighbor was here, and I had him telephone the bar in town for a "take out" order for me, which I hope to be dining upon while writing the final award.

The usual--hamburger, french fries, and coffee.

The hamburger extremely well done, all the grease squeezed out of it, with only ketchup; they make hamburgers as big as tires of Volkswagen "Bugs" (I exaggerate, but only mildly).

A triple order of tripled-salted french fries, done on the grill rather than in the fryer, and with side dishes of ketchup, real mayonnaise, sour cream, and beef gravy for dipping.

A 52-ounce cup of coffee, three-quarters coffee, one-quarter real cream.

It's a fine day out here in the Sandhills, temperatures in the 50s but with overcast skies, and it's New Year's Eve, and I'm just about done with the primitives for the year, so I decided to splurge, blowing eight bucks for lunch.

I know the writing is underway...my only advice is: NO MERCY.

This is a man who lives with her. I can't believe she says nothing about her activities...this is Nadin: she never shuts up.
He knows, he just doesn't care.

Yeah and doesn't care.  Not his problem, it keeps her busy and out of his hair.

I know the writing is underway...my only advice is: NO MERCY.

The writing's underway, and going well; I'm trying to practice my usual Christian charity and compassion when dealing with the top primitive.

Also, she's a woman, and franksolich is too much of a man to pick on women.

We'll see.  I think it'll be good.

Did you see my parting shot to the lurking primitives in my last comment?  There's been a lot of primitives hanging around this thread, and so I decided to jab them with a three-pronged fork, when describing my fine repast for the day.

The cooking-and-baking primitives are probably right now discussing their menus for New Year's Day; we know how frou-frou they can be, and I imagine recipes for ragout de veau aux pommes de terre brunes, aubergine et agneau en casserole, and crevettes et ouefs a la Florentine, and somesuch are being posted.

So that was the first jab.  One can dine well on simple fare.

As you know, the primitives like to boast about how much money they spend for things.

That was the second jab.  One can lead the good life spending very little money, if at all.

Finally, there's probably a lot of calories in what I'm eating right now--probably enough to keep me nourished for three days--and the primitives may be praying for deleterious affects on franksolich's health.

That was the third jab.  Since franksolich works for a living, and does a lot of manual labor, he doesn't have to worry about his weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, whatnot.  franksolich could probably eat twice as much as he does, and still remain well, well, well within what's healthy.

Okay, back to writing.....

It's hard to imagine the life Mr. Abbott must lead. He seems to be a man with a nice appearance, and must be of at least average or above-average intelligence to have advanced in the ranks of the Navy as he apparently did. I keep wondering how he came to be married to nutcase nadin. It just doesn't make sense.

My best guess is based on the fact that in Mexico one of the dearly-held fantasies of the hippie hordes is actually true. There are very, very few middle class people. There are very rich people, and swarms of desperately, unimaginably poor people. I suspect that nutcase nadin is from a somewhat rich family, and that Mr. Abbott, worried about money as an elisted man, was paid what appeared at the time to be a substantial sum to marry and confer citizenship on the nutcase, after which other family members might follow to El Norte.

Over the past ten years, that bribe has slowly evaporated. Now, they are back to living on a Navy pension, in one of the most expensive places in North America. Nutcase is unemployable, due to her incredible personality, so they are stuck. We've heard her whine repeatedly about her cramped budget. Her little hotdogs-for-whores outing supposedly shut down her coffee budget for the rest of the month. She's also mentioned how her husband has begun trying to earn a bachelor's degree to improve his earning potential. Nadin allegedly has a master's degree in history, though as an unemployable, semi-literate crackpot it does her no good. One can only imagine how miserable she makes Mr. Abbott's life as she bitches about money and his lack of education.

My guess is that he knows she's on the internet all the time, but doesn't know or care what she's doing as long as it keeps her out of his face. Still, why an apparently normal man is tied to this grotesque nut remains a mystery.

You could be spot on with that.  I remember one guy who was so hard up he married an old hag because he wanted to bed her young daughter.  She wanted a beige card (dependent) so she could shop at the commisary.  (This guy wasn't known as a Mensa candidate by any stretch nor much of a looker with his hair lip. ) :hammer:

The important chap on that bomber would be the radar navigator -- getting the plane and bomb to the target on course and on time is his job (my husband's first plane  :-) so I am by Nadin's standards a totally awesome expert).

Is she here legally?

Is she here legally?

Sure, yeah, she's in fact a U.S. citizen since 2000 or a few months before.

I'm taking the position that her husband got sordidly drunk one night in Mexico, met her and married her.

And then when he sobered up, he realized it was a mistake, but being a man, he accepted it.

I had an ancestor like that once, who went away from his village in Romania and made a lot of money elsewhere.

When he returned some years later, he was rich, and still unmarried.

Every woman who was single, in the village, was thrust in front of him as a possible wife.

He settled upon a mean, nasty, gossipy, sharp, nagging old crow, and the marriage lasted until death.

He was once asked why he'd settled for her, when he had all these other much better choices.

He replied that life had been rather easy and comfortable for him until then, and he was worried for his Immortal Soul.  So he married her so as to pay for his sins in this life, not the next.

maybe

Nadin could have used Christmas shopping as an excuse to get away from home and then scoot down to the occupy zone, take a pic or two, and be back home lickity split.

See how it go in the new year.

I voted "no," only because she posts still under her maiden name. I would think if he knew, or she wanted him to know, she would post under her married name.

I don't think he knows during the day what all she's doing.  I believe she breaks from the internet an hour or two each day pretending to get her housework done, little bread making, grocery shopping. You cannot hide filth forever.  Unless he doesn't care eventually you have to clean something.

He has to know at night what she's up to for at least a few hours before bed.  As for all night posting ?  I doubt he knows that. There is no way she's doing anything domestic for her husband regularly considering the amount of time she spends pouring out the crap she posts.  Maybe he thinks she's doing her toy thing.

Personally, I feel sorry for him but he bought that ticket, he takes the ride.   :loser: :-)

Someone signed me up for that, a long, long time ago, while I was still living at home.  My father actually suspected that I had done this.  All I had to do was mention the name of the neighborhood troublemaker . . . and he figured it out.  Turns out that I was right--said asshole admitted it years later.
