 Joe Lieberman: 'Too Early' To Endorse Obama In 2012, Have To Look At GOP Candidates
Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.), freshly freed from the shackles of being concerned with reelection, said in a recent interview that he wasn't ready to endorse President Obama's reelection campaign yet, and that it was "conceivable" he would support a Republican candidate instead.

"It's too early to say," Lieberman said in an interview with Newsmax when asked if he planned to support Obama in 2012. "The reason I say it's too early to make a decision is because it's only halfway through the Obama administration, and we don't know who the Republicans will put up. So I'll watch it with real interest."

Asked if he might throw his weight behind a Republican candidate, Lieberman appeared only cautiously willing to open that possibility.

"It's conceivable, but really I wouldn't want to overstate that," Lieberman responded, going on to commend Obama for what he saw as a renewed commitment to pursuing more bipartisanship cooperation.
