That was where I suddenly became illuminated about the heartless nature of Mrs. Alfred Packer.
You might recall, sir, that for years, while I used material from the cooking and baking forum, I was always highly--and sincerely--complimentary of the hippywife primitive, who seemed so full of joy and love and effervesced nothing but goodwill. In fact, during that time, I had re-baptized her "Grandma," in memory of my own.
The archives here show it; franksolich at one time had nothing but the most affectionate feelings for hippywife.
But when she fatefully commented she didn't do Christmas, I hit a speed-bump, breaking the axle.
What woman doesn't like to do Christmas?
What is so bad about a holiday of joy and love and peace and goodwill and God?
Well, it's "bad" to the misbegotten primitives.....

For some reason I find that the Conservatives are just as crazy as the Liberals. Never forget Frank that had our founding fathers been Conservative we would be today singing Hail to our Queen.
It was the missfits, the rebellious that broke from England, France and Spain. The Troys ruled and the uneducated unwashed and common people that rose up en mass to fight the Greatest Country on earth at that time. Fancy that, some dirt poor farmer living in a sod home leaves family to go up against the KING.
1773 and the unwashed were proclaiming " Power to the People" 1963 people were proclaiming " power to the People" and now along comes a band of missfits not so unalike out fore fathers saying the same.
Take apart American history and find that these people are not so unalike from the people that founded America. No leader yet, that will come in time, everyone with a different grievance against the government. We get all bent over the tent city's these people set up, ever read of the horrors of wintering at valley Forge????
I believe we are lucky to be alive and watching American history repeat over and over again. Where will this take us, how big can it grow???
I am Conservative only because the ideas tend to match my own. However I am not ignorant enough to follow in lock step the Conservative ideas of each and every one. There is still a bit of Liberal training in my mind, the very reason I enjoy history so much.
Not all Liberals are crazy, Teddy Roosevelt gave America out National Parks. Seward was a visionary ridiculed for paying Russia for Alaska. Seward's Folly.
Who was that crazy old woman that took young girls onto the after battle field to tend to the wounded? She and her nurses were vilified as whores, ---Gasp they saw and tended to wounds of a solders private parts---
Lots of examples of the Liberal folk that changed America. Some for the good, some for the bad.
Conservatives also helped America to grow and build, then the unions came in to insure 10 year old were not forced to work 18 hours a day. Great in its time, now evolved into a Cancer on America.
Some good, some bad in both sides, today's world is far from the past, different problems, a new age. We can take from history things that happend a few hundred years ago or history only a generation ago.
Times change minute to minute today, we need both sides of the story, have some idea what, why and how this can affect us in the future---Like 5 hours from now.
