So, Notice of Pendency of Class Action In re: Chase Bank USA, N.A. "Check Loan" Contract

Litigation, Case No 3:09-md-02032 MMC

If the minimum monthly payment on your credit card bill was increased, a class action lawsut may affect your rights. The Court in the above referenced case decided this case should proceed as a class action on behalf of a "Class," or group of people, which accordin to Chase's record, includes, whomever and me. This notice is only a summary.

What is this case about? This lawsuit claims that Chasee violated the "implied coveneant of good faith and fair dealing" by increasing the minimum monthly payment on certain cardholders from 2% to 5% of the outstanding balance. Chase denies any wrondoing and the Court has not yet determined whether there has been any wrongdoing.

You and I have never seen much of any return on a class action law suit, so we also know that the lawyers and costs eat most all of the return, but I still hope it is a big one because at least the lawyers will spend it when bitch****ing Chase won't lend it! Economic stimulus baby! You go lawyers!

It still befuddles me that people are so concerned about the minimum payment on a card.

Although, the lawyers may be able to present a good argument that this wasn't done in legal good faith.  I wouldn't be shocked if it wasn't intended to rack up their penalty payment fees, which are beloved cash cows.

It's still strange to me, that with a few exceptions (American Express and Discover), many credit card companies actually prefer financially irresponsible card holders versus responsible ones.

  It's always hilarious when then happens.  You picture a crazy person sitting in the corner, rocking back and forth and muttering to themselves.

Wait.  You're applauding a small collection of big rich stinking lawyers getting wads of cash to spend on gold bathroom fixtures, lavish vacations, Dom Perignon?  You're kissing the ass of the 1%!!!!!!!!!!!!!
