Something to keep in mind as the Post Office gets massacred
   
Article 1, Section 8, Clause 7 of the Constitution empowers Congress to create the Post Office.
The First Amendment to the Constitution gives each of us Freedom of Speech.

It is not a mistake that the Post Office is a creation of the Constitution, it was meant to be. It does a man no good at all to stand in the wilderness and speak his mind. But if that man is guaranteed a way to send his thoughts to others, to transmit his speech beyond the bounds of his circumstance or the cell he occupies, then his guarantee to speech has meaning.

The Republicans insatiable desire to devour the Post Office is centered in their hatred of an organized workforce, but do not forget what the Post Office gives us - a means to exercise our most valuable right. Decimating the Post Office is just one more nail in our Liberties' coffin.

What the hell does the Constitution have to do with the post office?  :loser:

That idiot seems to be stuck in the 1800's when the post office was the only means of sharing opinions and views.

I must have overlooked the unionization clause of Art 1 Sec 8.

He's about as good at constitutional law as he is at home dentistry.

If I recall, it was a certain President of the United States who gave the authority to reduce the number of delivery days as well as redundant post offices in the country...

oh yeah -- it was Obama.. silly me...  :whatever:

May take that up myself after the last trip to the dentist.

Son had his teeth cleaned and they took X-rays. Why the X-rays I don't know but the totall bill was almost $400 and he didn't need any work. Me on the other hand got mine cleaned, 2 fillings replaced, 3 pulled because I had popped the crowns/caps off and 2 X-rays for a total of over $1,400.

When I got those 2 fillings 50 years ago, they cost me $4 each. I think I should send son to dental school before I have those 3 missing teeth replaced with something.

I also recall a former Dim presidential candidate that was at a rally across the street from where a postal union was holding a convention, and he declined an invitation to come over and speak at it. (John F'n Kerry).

I recall a certain president, when he was a candidate, who urged his volunteers to use "greener" methods of campaigning other than the Postal Service.  (Lord Zero)

Wouldn't it hold true if the economy improves, so will the mail volume the Postal Service handles?  Who is in charge of our current "recovery"?
