I am certain that if I posted a poll asking if you approve of Obama's job performance, we would NOT see an 81% approval rating as is claimed in the Gallup poll.

So the question is why?

Is Gallup full of shit -did they post the question to responders in such a way as to give misleading results?

OR does DU have a gross misrepresentation of Democrats, so far to the left that they cannot even be called "liberal Democrats"?

Perhaps it is because you demented fools still have dreams of being appointed to the politburo of the communist country you wish for.

4. I have wondered that too.
I suspect we are more disapproving (on the whole) because we're political junkies, while the general public is not. Perhaps we hold him to a higher standard.

But I'm not sure.

Lots of junkies at the DUmp.

16. And, being political junkies, we are better informed.
 That's what makes the difference.

28. I agree. Every time I see a post from some here breaking their arms patting themselves on the back
with how "informed" DUers are, all I can do is shake my head. If by "informed" it is meant "clinging maniacally to the most deranged conspiracy theories while attempting to demagogue every single thing that exists in the known universe" then yeah, informed is a good word.

It's gotten so bad around here now most thinking folks only come for the chuckles.

How did you make it to 1000+ posts?  :o

36. You can cherry pick examples of misinformation here

as anywhere

But 1) There is vastly more accessable info here that is truthful and informative than found on any other one source on the web (without wading through inane and violence-tinged rightwing posts)

2) Some misinformation is posted by trolls; it is up to each person to check the veracity of such claims

and

3)those out-of-whack threads which are posted here by libs/progessivies are a minority on the entire site and are generally countered by others who provide confirmation or lack therof.

This is a discussion forum, not an academic journal.

Come visit here and you can see daily how many threads and posters that are simply deranged you have.

37. I disagree
I get my information from LBN, the E/E forum, the LA Times, the NY Times, the Sacramento Bee, and whatever my friends post on the Facebook. Not Faux, not CNN, not anywhere on the TV. The only things that I'm not into that I could do to be more informed are watch The News Hour, the Beeb, and the Al Jazeera, but there are only so many hours in a day, ya know?

I read articles about Obama and his presidency every day.

If Obama was doing the super-awesome liberalest job ever, I would know about it.

Anyone making the argument that there are a large pocket of liberals out there who are more informed about Obama's presidency than the people on DU who spend hours a day steeped in politics is smoking crack.

Yes, we are prone to manias and misinformation, but probably less so than most groups of people due to the fact that we get our news from 100 different sources and hundreds of different people a day on here. What I know about Obama's presidency is that he did a half-assed job on health care, and he's doing a shitty job on the environment, education, LGBT rights, jobs, and half a dozen other issues.

If anyone wants to pull out the list, I'd be happy to deflate it yet another time, but don't piss on my shoe and tell me it's raining.

Usually the most common source is alternet or truthout.

10. Who is it that believes themselves to be "liberal Democrats?"
I certainly believe that DUers are much more informed and plugged in than most folks.

Don`t let the bragging most DUmmies do about either being a stoner or a mental case fool ya though.

The Gallup poll is about liberals supporting Obama, not socialists and communists supporting Obama.

That sums it up pretty well.  Including this...

The primitives are under the false impression they have the ability to define who is and isn't conservative and liberal.  Remember, they view themselves as being either down the middle or slightly left-of-center.
