So last night LAPD showed up with L-3 Hazmat suits
   
the lowest level of Hazmat suits, since they were to clear a camp and as they put it, they were afraid of human waste.

Ok, some may go.. yip, good for them. NO.

This is another effort in the process to dehumanize OWS and make them look dirty and DIFFERENT from you. The media has been going on and on and on as to how dirty these camps are. I have visited a camp, I can tell you that yes, they have a homeless population, which was there before OWS showed up, And I can tell you this was sheer theater to dehumanize OWS.

For the record I did transport a patient who WAS homeless, who was covered in human waste, and a few maggots, as in a few thousand of them on an infected wound, and lice. We did NOT wear hazmat of any kind. We wore gloves and masks... due to the possibility of this patient having a few issues, of the contagious kind. Why am I telling you the story? Because this was theater, of the worst kind.

As to that patient, he was also not quite alright in the head, so ended up at the local psychiatric hospital.

We also transported another one who fell on a septic tank, again, no hazmat... and trust me, the decon was all but fun for either of them, or the rigs.

So no, LAPD engaged in a tad of theater last night... the kind of theater that is meant to dehumize the movement. And what is sad is that people who should know better, fall for it... that is what is sad.

As to OWS, no, it is not dead. As I wrote the other day... it will evolve and again surprise the powerful that is truly going after... it is NOT done.

The facts don't seem to line up with her fantasy:

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Trash, flattened tents and the stench of urine were the legacy of Occupy Los Angeles on Wednesday after hundreds of protesters were arrested or chased out of their City Hall park encampment.

City crews erected chain link fence and concrete barricades around the park at dawn, six hours after 1,400 police officers swarmed the area.

Later in the morning, police officers in white hazardous materials suits prowled the park in search of personal belongings to store for retrieval by protesters.

“A lot of this stuff is contaminated with urine and feces and who knows what,” Cmdr. Andrew Smith said.

The encampment turned the once-lush City Hall lawns into patches of dirt strewn with tons of debris — clothing, tents, bedding, shoes, trash and other human flotsam that accumulated during the past two months.

Police Lieutenant Andy Neiman said before the operation that some protesters had been reported to be storing human waste at the site for unknown reasons. He later said police entering the camp encountered “a horrible stench.” The grounds were strewn with collapsed tents, trash and other debris.

If she has really been to the Occupy San Diego encampment like she claims, she must have missed the overpowering smell of urine that surrounds the place.  Had she checked out the civic center parking garage adjacent to the encampment she might have noticed the piles of human shit and puddles of piss in the stairways.  Way to be an objective citizen reporter, ya DUmbass!

It'd have to have been deliberate, indicating a very disturbed person who needs to roommate with the subway cat in that big building with small rooms and soft walls.

You eat the media meme as much as you wish. This is like the security theater at the airport... just like it. And it is meant to dehumanize the protestors

You know, I recently dealt with the same sort of problem the Los Angeles police are dealing with.

Because of the weather, I'm insisting that the cats stay indoors.

There's one cat, Harold, who needs to be re-housebroken the beginning of every winter.

I dunno why that is, but that's the way it is.

It takes a couple of weeks--and about a gallon and a half of ammonia--but after that, Harold's fine; he uses the litter-box.

The thing that's always driven me nuts is that one can have a living room about an acre in floor-size, nothing in it excepting four pieces of furniture, lots and lots of walking-around area.  The usual Harold-mess is, I dunno, maybe 3"x3", or something like that.  A very tiny speck in a vast ocean of floor.

But by really perverse chance, guess where one unwittingly steps.  In that whole acre of floor-space.

If I were a cop in Los Angeles, I'd definitely wear a heavy-duty hazardous-material suit when dealing with these cretins.

I remember some years ago during the dead of winter in Ohio, a very, very large woman walking across her backyard somehow caved in the top of a septic tank and fell in.

The hole was only big enough for her to fit through, and the weather was bitterly cold, so no one came close enough to hear her gradually weakening cries for help for a couple of days. She lived alone, so she wasn't immediately missed.

Finally, someone by chance found her down in the tank, embedded above her waist in septic sludge, still alive. The article said she survived the sub-zero nights due to the warmth generated by the decomposing sewage.

Nutcase nadin would have known what to do. In Mexico, one becomes expert, since human waste is so prevalent on fresh vegetables, in ice cubes, and in the drinking water.

You know, when I went to the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants right after the fall of the evil empire, I went there with no firm date of my return home; I figured I'd just go around and look, and once I got tired of looking, I'd come back.

It was during my 23rd month there that I finally decided to come back; I'd walked into a gastronome, or whatever it's called, a Soviet-style "supermarket" (which in no way resembled western supermarkets), and upon turning in an aisle of empty shelves, I suddenly spotted a mound of human excrement right there on the floor, in a "grocery store."

It was then that I suddenly decided, "Okay, time to go home.  I'm tired of this shit."

The socialists were great dehumanizers, convincing the people they were animals, and so the people acted as if animals.  I saw sights like this all over the socialist paradises, but that particular morning, I decided I didn't want to deal with it any more.

My sympathies are wholly on the side of the Los Angeles police department.  I'm sure most cops have seen a lot of blood and guts and gore in their line of duty, but there's something that's even more disgusting about it if it's done by people who know better.

Nada drove a "Honey Sucker" truck to the septic tanks in the country during the day and drove an ambulance at night in the big city.

For someone with so much professional experience in the past, she has done nothing for last few years at the DUmp...and OWS rallies...and hoard canned milk. Curious. Probably burned out from so much experience early in her life.

I can find a thousand sites in a single GOOGLE search that identify ANY kind of human waste as HAZMAT.

The OP claims that wearing hazmat zootsuits last night was theater.

So you're telling me that the point is moot? Would you wear gloves if you had to go into the park and clean up? If so, why?

Well, when you think of it, nadin grew up in Mexico City, which has its "nice" areas, but for all practical purposes is just another third-, fourth-, or fifth-world capital city.  So probably to her, human waste laying around is something she's used to, it's no big deal.

When one thinks of it, nadin's indignation about the issue is simply nothing more than the primitive hatred of taboos.

Sigmund Freud had a great deal to say about the matter.

The primitives, just like the hippies of yore, resent taboos; they think they're practices invented by headressed tribal chieftains grunting around a communal campfire, or by red-hatted red-robed old guys sitting around a palace in Rome.

Actually, if nadin knew history, she'd know taboos evolve out of long human observation; that there's a very good and practical reason for them to exist--the preservation of the human race, or a segment of the human race.

There's a very good reason taboos exist about human waste, the least of it being disease, and I suggest nadin stop reading Che Guevera and read some Freud instead.
