So I opened the letter last night and found a hospital bill:
As some of you may know, I had a recent (successful) stay in the hospital. What occasioned that stay was an ultrasound which I had performed at the outpatient center, which saved my life. Or at least 'life' as I know it.

The bill is thus: Fee for ultrasound $1066.00
Insurance Paid 106.50
Adjustment 919.50

You owe 40.00

Now something tells me that there are two, count 'em two, interesting issues here. On the one hand, the fee for that procedure is way out of line, the "list price" as it were. OTOH, the reimbursement is ridiculously low, and I have an EXCELLENT health care plan. BUT, if I didn't have insurance, I'd be responsible for the entire $1066.00 which is ridiculous, but then again, how could they possibly break even being paid $146.50 for the service? In this country, the pendulum always swings wildly.

Gouging the poor to pay for the rich.

Where have I heard that one before?

They have to charge the high price for the procedure to recoup the millions of $$$ they lose treating illegal aliens who never pay their hospital bills.

This primitive claims to be a dentist and yet he doesn't know the hows and whys that the medical community charges more and accepts less?

His analysis of the situation sounds more like what the janitorial service cleaning the dentist office might write.

Evidently, it was the VERY FIST time this idiot ever read an Explaniation of Benefits.  Oh wait.  The idiot did not read it.  If it had, the hospital bill would not have been a suprise.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

And I just opened a medical bill for $145, original price was $667.  I'm a little pissed about it because I don't think that the tests that my doctor ordered were necessary and I didn't think to check what they would cost before I had them done, but that is a lesson for myself.

Years back I was stabbed by a primitive. This incident severed my pulmonary and mammory artery. I ended up havign a right Thoracotomy to repair the damage, along with a week stay in the ICU. I had no insurance at the time. My bill ended up being over 25 grand , this was in 1996. I gladly paid every DIME. I really don't think 25 grand was too much to pay to have this little thing we call LIFE.  This is one thing I do not get about the Primitives. How much is too much to pay to have your life and health? Apparently even 40 bucks is too much.

So suck it up you whiney little scrunt . So you have to go without your bag o weed for a couple days.  Pay the 40 dollars, LOSER.

$100 for the ER visit in August, $100 for the colonoscopy procedure.

Cheap at any price.

Good thing he didn't brag that he only had to pay $40, a few weeks back another primitive posted how happy she was that whatever she had to get only cost her $300 after insurance, and they ate her alive.

The PCintern primitive accidentally opened a bill, instead of just filing it the the trash.

Much like how the Grinch initially felt pain when his heart grew three sizes, the primitive now has a tingling sense of obligation to pay what it owes, and it is pissing them off.

Good Lord.
Here it is, eight oclock in the evening.
Has that stupid scrunt even made an effort to pay the bill?
I already know the answer that!

A dentist surprised at the writeoff in an EOB? Riiiight.

No one here ever bought into his "dentist" persona.

You have to read between the lines, connect the dots, spot the trends.

This is a DUmbass with insurance, rubbing the noses of his fellow DUmpmonkeys in the fact that he has insurance and they don't.

DUmmies always love to remind other DUmmies that they're losers.

Yo, PCIntern, pay the freaking bill, so I don't have to pay it for you.
Like that's gonna happen
