The idea that easing up credit for businesses and they will hire more workers is bullshit
   
Only one thing is going to cause business to hire more people. More demand. If I owned a business and had access to more credit I would not hire anyone to manufacture widgets or to provide a service until the demand for what I was offering increases. I am not going to hire a bunch of people to fill up a warehouse full of widgets that no one has the money to buy. Or hire a bunch of new workers to sit around waiting for someone who can afford to use the service I provide. That is nonsense.

And there is only one thing that is going to create more demand. Higher wages. That is it. There are a lot of things I would like to hire done around this house or something I need to purchase if I had the money. Raise my income and I will start planning to do that.

And more easy credit is not the answer for increasing demand either. Easy credit is what got us into the mess we are in right now. Screw that. Put some more real money into regular peoples hands with wage increases and watch the hiring begin.

I wish DUmmies would run their own business.  I haven't but I understand that if a business has access to credit, it will attempt to expand.

Also, ole' Don is one of my typical side job customers.  They'd rather hire someone else to come into their house and do basic plumbing and electrical, or flooring, or painting, or install electronic systems than do it themselves.

I don't understand the hate DUmmies have for corporations? If a corporation has a service or product people like they will stay in business, if not they will go under. I don't understand the grip the DUmmies think corporations have on us all. Makes no sense since big and small corporations come and go all the time over the years.

Since it is obvious that for higher wages to be paid higher prices would have to be charged and hence no change in the overall balance what Don is saying is take it from someone that has it and give it to me.
I might be cool with that if I get to pick what Don has to do in return for his windfall but of course DUmbasses don`t think they should have to do anything in return for the money tree they wish planted in their yards.

I'm opening a pie shop.
 
Just clinched the deal with the property owner today.

It will be structured as a "social enterprise" with all profits donated to music programs in the local schools.

It will not be just a pie shop, but a music venue where local students and local acoustic musicians may play together and play for each other and play for others to hear.

The location is so perfect. It is a very small historic community intersection blocks from where I currently live, and it sits on the old trolley trail that is currently being restored as a hiking/biking trail that connects to other trails that ring the city. At this intersection was the trolley stop and the ticket office throughout the first half of the last century.

Oh god the space is so perfect! It once was an old grocery. The bones are excellent. They even have a very old cooler cabinet with glass doors that will be perfect to display pies. The original plate glass windows are still there, and original corner door. Renovation is already underway.

The business model will allow me to solicit startup funding and corporate sponsorships -- as I am totally on a shoestring.

(I'm writing all this because I know that there are others who would like to start up a business but have no capital. Social entrepreneurship is a global trend. Check it out. It can be a way to start up.)

Many of you know my commitment to pie. I'm doing test kitchen this month on a lot of recipes for the perfect product. King Arthur's lemon meringue was a fail last night. Unfortunately.
