EU bans claim that water can prevent dehydration

EU bans claim that water can prevent dehydration

EU officials concluded that, following a three-year investigation, there was no evidence to prove the previously undisputed fact.

Producers of bottled water are now forbidden by law from making the claim and will face a two-year jail sentence if they defy the edict, which comes into force in the UK next month.

A meeting of 21 scientists in Parma, Italy, concluded that reduced water content in the body was a symptom of dehydration and not something that drinking water could subsequently control.

I read this.
I had heard people refer to liberalism as a mental illness. I had thought that was just derogatory talk.

More and more I'm beginning to realize that liberalism may well be a form of insanity. Here the Euro is dying, states are about to go belly up. Greece may destroy the EU....and the ministers pass laws that say you cannot advertise water as being healthy/good for you.

What level of priorities to the EU ministers have?

Only the insane could come up with something like this.

Let those idiots go without drinking water or any water based products for a month and see if they will decide the same way.

So this is where we are headed?

"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

When will the Experts involved in the tourist trade tell people sun block is all hooey.   The sun is natural and there is no proof it causes skin Cancer.   Head for the beach, get a nice tan, spend your money the sun is your friend.

I just thought of the old timers that went for years without citrus fruit and their delight to receive just one fresh orange at Xmas.  Some of these old timers lived to be 90 years old.  -----Inland folk in the mid West before the railroad came in and/ or refrigerated containers were able to bring in lemons, limes and oranges.

So should not the EXPERTS make a statement that people do not need Vita. C to be healthy???

This is all so insane, next we will hear is that there is no problem planting your garden over the septic tank or leach fieldwork at the size of the Protestants the size of basket balls .  Oops I meant Products

NUTS and here you all think I am crazy, these are after all Experts on health ,world renowned folk, making Big bucks that gain fame telling people stuff that is incomprehensible.    Few creatures can live without some kind of moisture, I wonder why??

Well, it might be true in Europe...the Germans drink beer, the French drink wine, the Irish drink whiskey, the Scots drink scotch and the Brits will drink anything. :-)

And not to forget some tribes in Africa drink cows blood, bleed them slow so they do not die. South Westerns  islanders drink coconut milk,  try if fermented, you will never remember a thing after first cup.  Darn we can find all sorts of drinkables about the world.

Russians and their Vodka, Laplanders drink the milk from the Raindeer.

America drinks cow, sheep and goat milk.    --Greece has the Orzo  and the American Indian drank Cactus juice   Mickey Jackson drank Jesus Juice, Some Asians drink the blood of the Cobra to get it up.

Yankee tradition is to drink rum, in the south west it is Tequila, mid west corn squeezing Mid South PGA and moon shine.

The only drink of choice that is ice water are the Mormons, and the Muslims,  Some Baptists and  Jimmy Carter.

...and pizza is now classified as a "vegetable" if it has at least three tablespoons of tomato sauce.

Tomatoes are "vegetables" if you put salt/pepper on them like they do in the Northeast. But if you put sugar on them in the South, like I do, they're a fruit! So I guess, when I have a pizza with extra Italian sausage and extra mozzarella cheese and three tablespoons of tomato sauce, I'm eating.........FRUIT!

Stick them in the middle of the Gobi desert without water for week or so. Them we'll see what prevents dehydration and what doesn't.
