Help me out here - fox facts,..er, facts about fox

And before anybody tells me google is my friend:

Are you implying that DU isn't?

I'm putting together a verifyable list of lies, misrepresentations, inability to work within the facts, etc. at Fox

I have suggested to my students that they might not want to rely on Fox for their news (one started out the semester in her introduction saying that she was well versed in current events because she watches Fox news on her lunch hour where she works!) They keep posting articles from Fox in their current events journals.
I am about to make say some things about the reliability of their reporting, and I want to be able to back it up.

Thank you.

Ashling, help me out here.    How have you come to the conclusion that Fox lies, if you can't back up that claim on your own?

It's a mystery.

God help the poor souls who are paying tuition for the class you are teaching.

DUmbass needs to include other networks as well, to be truely honest.
We already know she won't.
Only thing on her mind is to indoctrinate, not the truth.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I guess she's looking for stuff like this.  Please don't tell her it's posted here though;

General Motors v. NBC Dateline

NBC aired an investigative report on Tuesday, November 17, 1992, titled “Waiting to Explode”. The 60 minute program was about General Motors pickup trucks allegedly exploding upon impact during accidents due to the poor design of fuel tanks. Dateline's film showed a sample of a low speed accident with the fuel tank exploding. In reality, Dateline NBC producers had rigged the truck’s fuel tank with remotely controlled explosives.  The program did not disclose the fact that the accident was staged. GM investigators studied the film, and discovered that smoke actually came out of the fuel tank six frames before impact. GM subsequently filed an anti-defamation/libel lawsuit against NBC after conducting an extensive investigation. On Monday, February 8, 1993, GM conducted a highly publicized point-by-point rebuttal in the Product Exhibit Hall of the General Motors Building in Detroit that lasted nearly two hours after announcing the lawsuit.[3] The lawsuit was settled the same week by NBC, and Jane Pauley read a 3 minute 30 second on-air apology to viewers.

Oh, wait.  That says NBC doesn't it.

Oops.  Maybe her 'kids' shouldn't use them as a source either.

2. Teach them Research

Edited on Sun Oct-09-11 06:54 PM by Angry Dragon
Have them backtrack what they hear on Fox and go the source.

If they are unable to verify what Fox spews then it is just opinion as stated above and
has no basis as news

edit: this might be better posted in GD

Yeah, tell them to watch O'Reilly and Hannity and then check facts. Hell even those two opinion shows have more facts presented than a 24 hour period on PMSNBC.

It's hopeless here, too.

"We see by our outfits that we are both cowboys,"

"If you get an outfit you can be a cowboy, too."

Yeah, because the INTERNET doesn't extend outside of Texas or Alabama for your 'research' on Fox News.

Good luck with that DUmbshit.   :whatever:
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

If my kid came home with an assignment like that there would be a come to Jesus meeting with the teacher, principal, and the school board.  It would not end well for the teacher.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
