People are way up in the fan based reality. Personality and us-vs-them stuff.

Steve made the world different. You gotta wonder how many of the trashers still type green phosphor letters on a command line. And carry their sony walk-mans. Hypocrisy is very rampant today.

Small thread but filled to the brim with hypocrisy .

I just heard on Fox, that Steve Jobs was adopted.  How would the world be different if his mother had chosen the Democrat option for single mothers?

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I was listening to talk radio this morning and they played his commencement speech to the 2005 graduating class at Stanford. It was a wonderful speech, he spoke also spoke about his adoption. I have heard the good and bad about him, I respect him. He made life better for all of us, he is the perfect example of what capitalism is about. There would be no Steve Jobs in a communist/marxist country.  That is what DU loathe about him, they know it too.

What percentage of threads do you guys think get locked over there? There isn't a day that goes by when I don't see locks.

I would say that it is well under .01%.  Consider the massive volume of stooooopidity spewed forth that get few replies if any and just drop like a rock from the front page.  Then consider that we seem to be able to cull the truly stooooopid ones to bring over, which may influence them being locked.

Well, you're not.  Really and truly, you DUmmies are some of the meanest people on earth.  You are covetous and idolaters.  You hate America, you hate human beings, you hate life. But not nearly so much as you loath your own selves.

Great point! ^5.

The DUchebags see someone like Steve Jobs, an incredibly successful person and they strive to stereotype him as the embodiment of greed, gluttony and graft. How incredibly sad and narrow minded.

Throughout all of the human experience noteworthy advancements have been very few and far between. People like Steve Jobs, truly a renaissance man are not born often. His name, accomplishments and contributions to humanity will be taught to schoolchildren in the centuries to come.

Conversely the whole of the DUmmie hoarde shall pass nameless into the oblivion of history's forgotten recesses having contributed nothing to humanity. They expend all of their energies in the search for new and innovative angles to ply their parasitic way through life, always taking and providing nothing in return.

Really, under .01 percent?  I would say more like 1-2%.  .01% is a very tiny fraction.

Visit the Island more often and you will see the vast quantities of threads that go unanswered and never get locked. Very few threads in the minor sub forums get locked.

I haven't seen or heard anyone being disrespectful of Steve Jobs.

Some DUmmies have attacked him for his capitalism and for Foxconn.

If he were born after Roe v. Wade, how different would life be today?

It's possible, he would not have been born after R. vs W.
That's the sad part.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
