Beans and rice are cheap, chili is cheap, spaghetti is cheap, jambalaya is cheap, beef and potato or chicken and potato stew is cheap, gumbo is cheap. Buy whole chickens, learn to cut them up or have them cut. Bake it whole with a side of potatoes and corn. Frozen corn on the cob is cheap. Meatloaf is cheap.
That's 9 cheap easy meals right there, pretty much dirt cheap. Cake mix is a dollar, frosting @$1.29. You're not starting out with nothing, you must have staples, bake some cookies. Oatmeal and peanut butter cookies are very cheap to make. Plus you can make a grip of cookies in under an hour.
It's not hard. You have to want to do it.
Had a good, healthy (more or less), quick meal last night:
Three packs of Ramen (noodles only) - $1.37
Small pork loin cut into chunks and pan fried in veggie oil - $6.99
10 Ears of corn that I picked, blanched, and froze - $2.50
Total for a meal that fed 7 people (4 adults, 3 children) = $10.86
The Ramen was boiled then put into a pan with the cooked pork loin (pork loin was dipped in honey and cooked sesame seeds), add some water and soy sauce, heat in the pan, serve.
It isn't hard, DUmbasses, and I manage to do this
and pay for your steak and Cheetos with my tax dollars. Believe me when I tell you that my family's menu and your EBT excesses are a major factor every time I head into the voting booth.
