I am obese, same as Chris Christie. I am obese because I have an addiction

to fatty food and sometimes sweets. Like most addictions it comes with an element of denial. Denial that it will kill me, denial that I am as big as I am, denial that I encourage those around me to overeat too. Obesity is catchy they have just found.

Aside from the fact that people of Chris Christie girth regularly die at a young age, I don't think we want a President who has issues of denial.

How about this, maybe it isn't the food.  Perhaps you stop putting a crater on your cheap vinyl computer chair going to the DUmp and go outside and exercise?

It's not my fault.
It's not my fault.
It's Bush's fault I'm fat.

Just because you're in denial doesn't mean Chris is.

Sure you do, you're just in denial.

The conservative "Feed Them to Death" plan seems to be working....but damn it costs a lot.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Our bodies are designed to crave sweets and fats.  Sweet food usually have a lot of carbohydrates which provide fast energy, and fat is calorie dense.  We have to exercise self control and realize that our bodies are designed to prepare for famine, so if we don't expect a famine in the near future we need to watch what we eat.

Addicted to food ?   :rotf:

This one is obsessed with food.  Her lounge posts are proof.

I swear, they have an excuse for everything.  ALWAYS the victim.

Maybe she needs to get her Canadian socialist butt off that chair, dump the DUmp and work on her weight loss.

Oh, there's that dirty word.  WORK.

Also, she orders out, claims she has no cooking skills. That's why she's obese.

Pardon me ma'am but you have a chair sticking out of the crack of your fat ass.

I believe the DUmmie is on a see-food diet.

Oh shut up with the addiction crap.  ::)

I saw a "special" on TV about people who have food addictions and "can't help it" when they scarf down 4,000 calories a day.  So not true.  Put down the fork, fatty.  Problem solved.  Go ahead and reward yourself with a cookie every now and again, just don't eat three package of Oreos to yourself in one sitting.

I just do not buy the addiction thing.

I think sex addiction is crap.

That's how men and women excuse cheating.

Almost every "sex addict", especially men, say they're addicted to porn.

Stop looking at porn all the time.  Ta Da.  Cured.

They tried calling it a 'disease'.  Nobody bought it.  Now they're trying 'addiction'.

As someone who has lost a considerable amount of weight and dedicated myself to a different lifestyle, I can tell you that some of you are full of baloney. Just watch a few episodes through different seasons of the biggest loser. Many, many, many of those people have underlying emotional issues that need to be dealt with to make their weight loss and maintanence a continued success. The problem that happens many times is that eating is a coping strategy for some people and obviously if you use that to cope, you are going to overeat. If you couple that with depression, you are going to be lethargic and sit on your duff and do nothing to be active. It's a very obvious(as in you wear it in an obvious way) unhealthy coping mechanism. I give kudos to anyone who has done it, especially without extreme diets, surgery, or quick fixes. It's hard work--I know first hand. So is maintaining it, even more the older you get and you start working against middle age metabolism.
Either way, the fork won't stay down unless you deal with the issues that compel you to pick it up excessively in the first place. And it doesn't deserve victimhood, just a bit of understanding, especially if the person is trying to overcome that hurdle and get themselves healthy.

the thing that's always concerned me about the LV Leviathan for example is he still makes excuses and hasn't accepted that he has underlying shit that needs addressed and I'm not talking his putrid sores either. Ridicule and excuses both come from the same place of just not getting it. Just my experience folks.
