California Dream Act passes key Senate committee vote
« on: August 30, 2011, 08:19:14 PM »
AB 131, part of the two-bill package known as the California Dream Act, was approved by a key California state Senate committee Thursday, allowing the bill to move forward in the state Senate. It would allow college students who are illegal immigrants and qualify for in-state tuition to apply for Cal Grants and other public financial aid.

Other versions of the bill have been approved since 2006 only to be vetoed by former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Governor Jerry Brown signed the bill's other portion last month. That bill allows undocumented students to apply for private financial aid. Brown has said he would sign the bills Schwarzenegger vetoed, according to the L.A. Times.

Southern California Public Radio

This is unbelievable!  Illegal aliens getting grants on the taxpayer dime!  Why don't American citizens qualify for this?

And this Gil Cedillo character, he's another one of these agents of the mexican government who managed to infiltrate the state legislation.  This bill was pushed by activist groups that disagree with the 1848 treaty and believe they're entitled to our tax dollars and lands.

Jerry brown? I'm shocked. There goes Commiefornia showing off it's stupidity and liberalism once again.
I heard that the imposter in the white mosque also signed an executive order in halting all illegal immigrants deportation from this Country for a period of time.

Meanwhile, my friend's little sister was just informed that her tuition at a state school was being increased.

California's budget is laughable as it is.  State schools are already raising tuition and reducing classes offered due to budget concerns, and now we are going to reduce tuition for non-citizens?

I wish I could.

Oh one more thing I wanted to add to this story:

A listener to the local talk radio station phoned Gil Cedillo's office and spoke to one of his aides about the bill.  He said his son, who is fighting in Afghanistan, doesn't have access to the same public aid for grants and the aide replied with, and I'm paraphrasing, "who cares, he's a racist fighting an illegal war.".

Can you believe these psychos?

This does not surprise me in the slightest.  Obama laid the groundwork by circumventing the Dream Act's failure to pass by issuing an executive order.  Illegals will not get deported if:  attending school, having family in the military or having primary responsible for other family members’ care.  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/aug/18/new-dhs-rules-cancel-deportations/
Granted, extending grants and tuition is Obama's EO on steroids, but, he paved the way.  I am not in CA, but, I do like the proposal for the 2 state split.

You expected anything different from "One-Bill Gil?"  He'll be trotting out his annual version of drivers licenses for illegals any day now, if he hasn't already.

Too bad being on the east coast screws up my ability to listen to John and Ken these days.  Bet they're having a ball.

And yet the state is broke.

...and that old Ray Charles song, "Busted", should be the state song.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Meet the new Governor Moonbeam, same as the old Governor Moonbeam.

Have fun in bankruptcy, Califunnystan.  If you're gonna go tits up, better do it before January 20, 2013.  I hear that after that, the Republican president won't be too keen on bailing your dumb asses out.

Haha, yup.  They're really trying to hype up this issue which has flown under the radar until now.

Can we just kick California out of the union?  I'm pretty sure we could get 3/4 of the states to agree to it.

I'm sorry, California, but you're too stupid to be a part of this country any longer.  Best of luck.

Can an entire state be put on a suicide watch?

Cuz that's what this law amounts to, economic and social suicide on a scale heretofore never seen.

The HELL my tax dollars go to bail these nitwits out when it blows up in their faces, too!!!

Problem is, it's not really fair to pin the idiocy of LA and SF on the entire state.  Go behind the Orange Curtain, or to the Central Valley/Coast (except for Santa Barbara or SLO), or down to San Diego, and California really is pretty conservative.  Remember, CA gave us Reagan, too.

Thanks.  Those of us in Orange County and San Diego are ready to succed from this sinking ship.

and guess what all of these illegal aliens will be majoring in with their free college tuition?  Engineering? no,  Medical Sciences? hardly.  No, these parasites will all be studying chicano studies taught by radical professors, filling them with hate against the U.S. for perceived wrongs against them by the U.S. and inciting them to rise up against the very Country that is giving them a free ride.

If you can all help us out here in California, call the following # and let governor moonbeam know you oppose this destructive plan.
