POTUS Wins Again - Releases Jobs Plan Directly to American People via Email
by ericlewis0
I received an email at around 1:30pm ET today from the White House, entitled,
Get on the Bus: Opening the Door to New Jobs
The majority of the email is reprinted after the jump. I have bolded the list of details in his plan - these are the points that Frank Luntz will surely be working overtime this weekend to try and distort, so hopefully that will give President Obama a good 48 hours of peaceful vacation in Martha's Vineyard, as the GOP scrambles. Ha-ha.
The White House email:
............................
Throughout his trip, the President proposed a series of common sense steps Congress can take immediately upon their return to Washington that will start rebuilding our economy. These include:
Extend the payroll tax cut so that middle class families have more money in their paychecks next year. If you've got more money in your paycheck, you're more likely to spend it, and that means businesses of all sizes will have more customers. They'll be in a better position to hire.
Extend unemployment benefits so that millions of workers who are still pounding the pavement looking for jobs can support their families
Pass a bipartisan road construction bill. There are over a million construction workers out of work after the housing boom went bust, just as a lot of America needs rebuilding. We can put these workers back to work by rebuilding our roads and bridges and railways.
Pass the patent reform bill to help our innovators and entrepreneurs get their job creating ideas to market faster.
Pass the trade agreements that will help businesses sell more American-made goods and services to Asia and South America, supporting tens of thousands of jobs here at home.
Put our bright, talented and skilled veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan to work. The President has proposed several initiatives to make sure our veterans are able to navigate this difficult labor market and succeed in the civilian workforce, including the Returning Heroes and Wounded Warrior Tax Credits, and his challenge to the private sector to train or hire 100,000 unemployed veterans.

4. In the old days, Republicans liked infrastructure projects
Now if Obama proposes something, they are against it no matter what it is.
He will pick up some Republican votes for this.
What about all the shovel ready jobs stimulus was supposed to give us? So now we are supposed to believe that this time the shovel ready jobs will appear?
0bama himself admitted that there are no shovel ready jobs.

45. Hopefully the GOP will get serious and realize that the public is
demanding something be done about jobs. That doesn't mean that they will cooperate with anything the Democratic side of the aisle will propose. They have proven that they will not support any ideas and proposals coming from Obama's administration. As, most people are aware, the GOP Congressionl members have openly stated that their only goal is to bring down Obama. So we can only hope that something good will come of this and the GOP will put America first in place of protecting corporate capitalist's interests. Guess we'll find out, right?
Most people are going to realize that this "plan" is the same exact thing that has been tried already and has failed miserably, just because Kellogg puts "New and Improved" on their cornflakes does not mean that they are any better than the last box you bought.

48. Hopefully you are right. If the Republicans have any job plans
at all, they should come forth with them now or they would really show disinterest in the jobs dilemma. They might just continue to attack the Democratic proposals without suggesting solutions as they have done all along. The only thing positive I have heard from the GOP Congress is Bachmann's struggle to allow the US public to buy incandescent lightbulbs. And that is questionable.
The best plan for jobs, is getting the govt out of the way and allowing the private sector to prosper and start hiring folks.

36. This pathetic plan is nothing new and WON'T CREATE SHIT
Continue payroll tax cut?... ummm... where were the jobs created from the initial payroll tax cut?
Patent reform... won't do anything for years
Extend unemployment... how's that going to help create MORE jobs than now?
Road construction bill... might do a little. BUT THE ECONOMY IS MUCH MORE THAN ROAD CONSTRUCTION.
Free trade... probably won't help create jobs. Might even be a small net loss.
Veterans job initiative?... They want to help 100,000 veterans... how about the MILLIONS OF NON VETERANS UNEMPLOYED RIGHT NOW?
This is utter shit.
Another troll.

41. Do not worry, the teaRoarist reps will just say NO since they don't
wanna see any job created by the Obama Administration.
If 0bama's plan had worked the first time and all his shovel ready jobs materialized and the economy was strong, I think the Tea Party would not exist at least not in its present form.
We would love for tons of jobs to be created, that would mean that what 0bama is doing was working, instead he has failed at every step and wants to keep on doing the same thing.
