Hi,
As I spend summers in the Chicago area I do not get to hear Glenn Beck's radio show as much as I would like as he does not have a Chicago affiliate. Hmmmmm, wonder why? But that is a topic for another discussion.
In any event I found I can now listen to him on satellite channel 125 and I did for about an hour today as I drove to Wisconsin. He started by interviewing a local, newly elected Republican congressman from our area in IL who I happen to like. It seems that this congressman, as well as several other Republican congressmen, wanted to make the trip to Israel the same time Beck is going to be there next week. The general impression I got was a lot of them were folks who had consistently voted NO to the debt cieling increase. In any event, this freshman congressman was told by the speaker of the house it would be inappropriate and he could not go to the event.
Apparently Beck had spoken to others in the same prediciment who had been told NO because of the group funding the trip, they needed to find another sponsor. Well they promptly did and were then told NO they could not go by the speaker's office a second time.
This was complimented by a lady caller who said she had called Boehner's office to give him hell and basically the lady that answered the phone laughed at the caller, pretty much made fun of her and hung up.
Beck really raked Boehner over the coals, calling the move political payback for not supporting the debt cieling increase, and then he thanked Boehner for showing the world his true colors.
Bottom line is not only did he really tear into Boehner, he tore into the Republican party saying that they want nothing to do with the Tea Party candidates and many Republican leaders are joining with democrats to try to do everything they can to discredit the newly elected Tea Party members of the house. He then discussed the potential presidential candidates as well and how the Republican establishment is also doing everything they can to keep Romney in front. While none of this is particularly new to us, Beck really did not mince words about it.
It was very well worded and powerful. For the last several times I have emailed my congressman (in FL where I vote) I have urged him to try to put together a recall vote to oust Boehner. Seems that the libs and a good portion of the Republicans are still voting and governing against the will of the people.
Keep those donation checkbooks closed folks, donate only to individual candidates you approve of until you see what the convention brings.
