Tax the Rich Bastards at 90% (who wants to burn a mole?)
« on: August 11, 2011, 06:55:11 PM »

Anyone have a mole to burn on this thread?

More taxes for the rich!

Nothing exciting but included in that thread is their standard graphic showing top marginal rates from the 40's to today.

We did it before!!!

:hi:

:kick:

Meanwhile in another thread a DUmmie was nice enough to give a PDF with tax rates from 1913 to 2011.

Tax tables 1913 to 2011

So let's go back to those golden days of 1961 where the top marginal bracket payed 91%.  But be sure to include everybody in that tax since the bottom rate $0-$4,000 was paying 20%.  Everybody paid, no free ride for anyone.

Watch how fast the DUmmie 'What do you mean I have to pay too?' chorus shows up.
25 years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope.  Now we have Obama, no hope and no cash.

If we have riots because of the Democrats playing the "wealthy aren't paying their fair share" card, and riling their constituents up, they should be brought up on criminal charges.

15. Mine, too. But

don't forget state taxes. That would bring the total marginal tax rate up to 101% for a resident of California. So for every dollar earned, $1.01 would be owed in federal and state taxes.

19. We really need to teach how a progressive tax rate system works in our schools.   Updated at 7:58 PM

A top 90% tax rate does not mean that all income starting at the 1st dollar earned is taxed at 90%.

You would more than likely want it too though.

We need to make super-high incomes pointless. Then that will stop. (If the overpaid know that it will be taxed away anyway above a given amount, they will stop putting it in their compensation packages, because they won't receive it, the IRS will.) It affects much more than deficits. Maybe kids could afford to go to a baseball game again - on their allowances. Or a movie. Maybe slave-wage labor in a third-world country wouldn't be necessary for a company to make a good profit.

It's Good. Public. Policy.

Great idea let's start by taxing you at 90% and see how well it works.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I believe that is exactly what some of them want - some for the free looting, and others who believe that the best way to get their positions established is to make the average person afraid of challenging any leftists.

Rioting is good Ole-fashioned bullying. And the liberals just love it.

Problem is, what these dipshits don't, and never have, realized is that there's a difference between INCOME and WEALTH.

Just ask John F'n Kerry, or the Kennedy clan.

Those caricatures suck pretty bad.  Is the guy that looks like Mussolini supposed to be Eisenhower?  And where is The Incompetent One?

How about abolishing the AMT for anyone who grosses less than or equal to 5X the median income, so we won't inflate ourselves into everyone paying it again, and adopting an AMT for corporations over a billion in gross revenues, so we don't have a fiasco like the GE megacorp buddying up to Obama while paying no net income tax?

29. You obviously don't understand how income taxes work.
90% means that 90% over a certain income is taxed. In the 40s only one American paid that highest rate.

31. But we didn't make muti-million dollar salaries by enslaving employees for 20 years !!!!!

!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!!!111

Employees aren't slaves, idiot.  We can quit as we please, and can be fired as employers please.  All done in exchange of services for money.

And they always conveniently forget that the definition of "taxable income" has changed considerably under the various rates in the graphic.  Tax math is too hard.  No wonder all of the internets laugh at them.

Nobody makes multi-million dollar salaries, you moron.  Anyone with a functioning brain neuron clearing over $250K would be smart enough to get all their comp package above that in some form of deferred benefit or capital gain asset.

Uh DAT, kinda explains things.......
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

On top of that, this dip shit is forgetting about offshore accounts. People do do that, and you can't tax what you can't find. Just because this DUmp rat spends all it's money on pot, and cheetoes doesn't mean everyone else does. Ask Soros....

Then you could do your part to save the country by losing your job. Remember that Bela Pelosi said that for every dollar paid out in unemployment, $1.79 is put back into the economy.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.
