My oldest daughter was following this trial very closely, and she was pretty sure the prosecution just never made the case that Casey actually committed premeditated murder. It was obvious that the child died, and that Casey partied despite losing her baby...which is really enough to sicken any sane person...but there were other plausible ways it could have happened. There was not proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey actually committed the crime. If it hadn't taken so long to find that poor baby, maybe things would have been different.
As to the OP, the fact that any moron could see this as an attack on women says more about the depravity of the left than anything else. The baby died, and normal people quite naturally condemn either parent for not protecting their child, for celebrating instead of mourning, for hiding the evidence instead of feeling enough guilt to almost welcome punishment...
