Hello!
« on: May 11, 2011, 01:18:52 PM »
Hi, everyone!
I have been a regular on conservativeunderground for some time now (I go by the same moniker there), and tried in the past to join here, but for some reason, it didn't let me back then. Thankfully, it worked today, so now I can comment here, too!
I am in my late 20's, from Florida, a student about to graduate with my Masters from a theological seminary. I hope to one day become a minister. So, in plain English, I am the sort of person that DUmmies view as evil incarnate: A conservative Christian and lifelong Republican from the South!
As my name indicates, I am a huge movie fan, all genres and ratings and time periods. I love talking about movies (Or other pop- culture- geek stuff), theology, and occasionally politics.
I'm glad to be here!

Welcome!!
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Welcome! So nice to have ya!! Drop by the Lounge if you want to post about movies. Looking forward to seeing you around!
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I don't know, this just struck me as odd.   You are going to be a minister, and you are referring to the misfits as such.

Hey, we do it - but we sinners, and not ministers.   I don't expect approval of them, just picture compassion when I think of a man of God, if that makes any sense?

I do welcome you to the site, but I just have to scratch my head.

I don't want to put words in moviebuff's mouth, but reading what he wrote in his intro, formerlurker, seems like he was saying the DUmmies view HIM as evil incarnate, not that he views them that way. :???:

I was take aback by his referencing the misfits that post there as DUmmies.   Just struck me as odd coming from a minister.

I call them that because most people call them that.

"What are your favorite films?"
Here some of them are, mostly in no real order (Other than the top 3, which I usually classify as my main favorites):
1. The Fifth Element.
2. The Mask of Zorro.
3. Sleepy Hollow.
4. The Chronicles of Narnia series, especially 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.'
5. The Batman series, especially 'The Dark Knight.'
6. To Kill a Mockingbird.
7. The Star Wars series, especially 'Return of the Jedi.'
8. The Lord of the Rings series, especially 'The Two Towers.'
9. The Nightmare on Elm Street series, especially #1 and #3.
10. The Indiana Jones series, especially 'The Last Crusade.'
