A very good friend of mine moved to southern kalifornia this past winter after falling in love with the area on a visit. In CT he had a successful pizza business with a fairly unique gimmick, a pizza cooking, beer dispensing, real working fire truck. Fire Truck pizza parties were a huge augmenter for the pizza shop but also limited to just a few months out of the year by new england weather.
So he put the fire truck on a flat bed and drove it across country to begin anew in an area that will allow year round fire truck pizza parties.
Now I should mention my friend is a life long liberal that has always supported democrats and save the earth causes.
Below is the most recent picture he posted on FB as he tries to navigate the water of startup business on the left coast - mind you he has run a business in CT for 6 years and 2 pizza restaurants in Taxachusetts for over a decade. He has also lived in and refurbished multiple historic lighthouses so is no stranger to regulations. (he was also the inspiration for Jimmy Buffet's book "A Salty Piece of Land)

His comment was "This is my wall of permits and regulatory agents that all need to be tended too as to open a business in CA. Life Long Democrat is now thinking Republicans have something when they say less regulation!" That made me laugh so hard I had to share.
