Today there will be more Weiner revelations and tomorrow and the day after that. There's just too much information out there for this to go away. There will be more women who come forward. There will be more transcripts. There will be more apologies from Weiner.

And for what? Does anyone really think he'll be allowed to go on TV to blast repuke policies or argue for liberal ones? Not bloody likely that he'll get the chance. He has virtually no support among dem pols in the Congress or at the state level. Odds are he'll be redistricted out.

In the best of all worlds, this wouldn't be the way things go. (of course in the best of all worlds, he wouldn't have conducted himself in such a reckless way) but this is not the best of all worlds.

Yes, some politicians survive scandals. Others don't. That's true for both republicans and democrats. There are a myriad of reasons as to why.

This may drag on but Weiner doesn't survive it.

And no, I don't see it as a crushing loss in the greater scheme of things. Weiner was an effective spokesman but not a power within the House itself. Nor is he the most liberal legislator. And in the end, Weiner is largely responsible for the mess.

And one thing that bothers me that hasn't been discussed much is this: How did he find all this time to **** around? He clearly spent hours and hours engaging in his hobby. Couldn't he have found some work to do?

1. Not built for the long haul, eh?

I lived through Bill Clinton's impeachment and years of soap message board hysteria. Your freak out is just not impressive. But if the towel you are so quickly throwing in is dark green, I could use it.

2. Clinton was President. The fate of the dems in Congress was closely tied to him.

The same is not true of Weiner.

3. So it doesn't matter if he stays, does it?

Since he doesn't affect the fate of Congress?

Was there anyone who wasn't begging Clinton to resign?

Seriously, is the towel green? Throw it my way.

4. what is going to bring him down ?

so far there is nothing illegal. his constituents support him. his wife wants him to stay in congress.

as for how he found all this time to **** around , he did it all on the internet . he could be doing other things at the same time. his wife is away a lot so it would be easy for him to do it without her finding out about it. maybe she knew and is ok with him having internet sex.

5. He didn't **** around! Resign for flirting. . . come on.

I don't think it's a good idea for the unterprimitiven to mess around with cali.

There'll be Hell to pay later, for that.

Anyway, as to the last primitive comment, wasn't there an (R) congressman from Florida in 2006 who was caught flirting, and the primitives demanded his head (and got it too)?

He is proficient at the art of defending POS liberal politicians in sex scandals.   He teaches a class in it at the local community college.

A community college instructor, and an unterprimitiven to boot, ain't anything compared with the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive, though.

A lot of primitives--Mr.Dorkio comes to mind--like to act like they're tough, but they're really wimps.

cali on the other hand is the real thing; I wouldn't want to mess with cali, which is why I treat her with kid-gloves and caresses.

Ooops. but DUmmie JI7 may have digitall scribbled this before Weiner came out and admitted to tweeting at least one known minor (17 year old in Deleware). As the local police have interviewed her, methinks the possibility of legal action awaits Huma's alleged husband and orientation shield.

Fixed a little bit.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
