DUmmies Discuss The DUmp's High Standards
« on: June 07, 2011, 10:04:26 PM »
DUmmy Capitalocracy thinks he's discovered the DUmp's main problem: DUmp standards of conduct are just too darn high!

Perhaps we hold ourselves to a higher standard to a fault.
Perhaps we hold our own to such a high standard that we cause problems for our own cause, even to the point where nothing less than a paladin crusader of righteousness for our own side can last on the political battlefield without being taken down for what are really minor transgressions or transgressions which have little to do with the profession of politics that we're all discussing here.

But at least we don't hold the other side to a standard of perfection while having zero standards for our own side, as the other side does.

And I think that's all I have to say about Weiner. We need more people who perform like he did in government... maybe ones that don't have Twitter accounts.

Maybe it's just me, but I think it'd be hard for DUmp standards to sink any lower. I mean, one of their star posters wants Weiner to send dick shots to his daughter. To go lower, what would you have to do? Make a stew out of grandma?

2. Actually, we hold our representatives, not ourselves to a higher standard
A standard I'm sure many of us would fail.

Nearly all DUmp democrats would fail any standard that would define a normal person.

So, in a discussion of standards, the DUmmies a just flailing around. They don't know what to think. They need an expert to give them
some wise advice. A sage. A source of wisdom, of gravitas. A googlemeister:

3. Actually it is simpler than that
we have evolved into a world where not even FDR would have survived.

Don't get me started on Kennedy.

Please, dear God, no, don't  get her started!

5. Maybe it all comes down to letting the right frame the argument.
I mean, why can't we say yeah, Weiner's a D-bag to his wife, but he's a bold progressive in Congress, and we need all of those that we can get right now, so who cares what he does in his personal life? Because we think it's just impossible for someone to be successful in politics unless they're a saint... and where does that idea come from? It's the kind of thing Newt Gingrich would say, right after divorcing one woman, marrying another, and taking yet another mistress, then running for president.

Funny you should ask, DUmmy Capitalocracy. It just so happens nutcase nadin is also an expert on "framing":

6. And that is part of the problem modern day
"progressives" and Democrats have no clue on framing. You and I may argue if this is on purpose, or not. (I at times think they could not be this incapable, unless they want to)

7. Perhaps framing could be restructured
and come from the bottom up instead of from the top down.

Maybe I'm crazy, but sufficient organization around that goal could make some changes in the public dialogue, I would like to think.

Republicans control framing very aggressively, but they still have to take some framing from their base. The people in charge of framing issues are the ones who control the money, and they don't give a crap about things like abortion, but they will pay lip service to it all day long.
This sounds like a job for the DUAC!

You know, this "framing" business is one of those bogus moonbat words, like "closure", and "self esteem", and "invest". They like to call it a failure in "framing" when they lose an argument because their logic is always so horribly flawed. They would have won if the issue had been "framed" better. Like John F'n got clobbered because he "couldn't get his message out".

But I could be entirely mistaken. This thread, and the nutcase nadin advice, may have all been about "farming", with their usual spelling difficulties.

They were conflating for about a good 6 months not too long ago.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Gravitas was a favorite at one time. I always liked that one. It made the DUmmies sound so smart and serious.
But the all-time DUmp best was when nutcase nadin went on her parenteral kick, and then turned out to not
understand what it meant. I think she got it from that retired nuclear submarine captain. It was one of the key triggers to her meltdown.

They still conflate from time to time, though none of them know what it means.

A Pam post over the weekend included the word albeit. Anyone familiar with Pam's mid-two-digit IQ knows
she has no idea that word even exists.

DUmp wordwatching is better than birdwatching. You don't need binoculars.

Don't get me started on Kennedy.
Which is precisely what she wanted them to do.
The primatives must have learned not to bite on that hook.
I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised.
After all, one can teach a rock to play dead.

Anyone else note that her new favorite word is "evolve"?
Pops up in many of her comments.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

If by complete and utter lockstep to fascist policies then the DUches do have high standards.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
