Oh man, it's been busy in the DUmpster today (Sunday); as a moderator, the "picture" I was seeing when viewing the DUmpster was very much like too many people in a grocery store, everyone rushing around.  Not any damage or anything, but just a lot of people rushing around to read and comment upon the Pam threads.

Is the departure, ostensible, of the greenbriar primitive good or bad for Skins's island?

On our side, it's bad because we're losing one of the stars in the comedy line-up.

On her side, it's good because she needs discuss her problems with professionals, not with other primitives.

But what about the effect on Skins's island and the primitives in general?  Good or bad?

I roved all over Skins's island this afternoon, and to be bluntly honest, I don't think most primitives are even aware of this departure.  And if they are aware, they don't seem to care enough to comment.

It's good as she needs to do some self-reflection.   She has serious issues that need to be addressed.

Uh huh, and one hopes she gets professional help too.

It was just so wrong, all wrong, her describing and discussing her problems with the other primitives on a message-board open to the public.

It certainly gave me the impression she wasn't serious about dealing with her problems.

She's just 1 nut in the fruitcake that we all know as DU.
She'll be back under another name within a week, 2 tops. She can't help herself and no one she knows is willing to expend the energy required for an intervention.

You know, this is all part of the wretched hippie legacy, the "let it all hang out" nonsense.

One acts with promiscuous reckless wild abandon.

I think it's reasonable to say that I myself am open and honest about what I post, but damn, I'm not uninhibited; I do have boundaries.  And probably the same goes for decent and civilized people all over.

To the question, is it good for the Island that she's gone?
Yes: if she stays gone.

Its always good when a pathological liar leaves. Even after they ruin their own reputations with lies...just spreading obvious untruth taints a board. The cesspool will be one turd cleaner when she leaves.

Case in point. Tom in Tib. another liar. Even the Primitives only tolerated him for his amusement factor. When he got himself banned for saying the anti-Semitic things they all secretly believe: no tears were shed.

It's funny to say a place mired in hatred and insanity will be better off without a known liar...
but every little bit helps.

It may be a good idea to keep an eye on that KC forum, but I expect her back at the DUmp faster than you can say "nutcase nadin".
With a new username, it may take as many as two posts before she's recognized.

It's neither good nor bad for the DUmp. The DUmbasses are so self-absorbed they'll never notice.
On the rare occasions when they do actually notice one another, a bloody brawl invariably ensues.

For us, the current DUmmy greenbriar was a pale, boring version of the original. Her earlier lies were so egregious, she developed a cadre of DUmmies who would immediately attack her whenever she sounded the least bit interesting, shutting her down. So I hardly care one way or the other. I was hoping she might expand on the lesbian assistant principal storyline, but it wasn't to be. She turned into a useless kpete-ish copy-and-paster.

Bad, bad, bad.
She drew attention of the primatives, and they quickly forgot they were being observed.

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Pam who?

Oh yeah--her.  No worries, there's enough batshit crazy there she'll likely never be noticed when they rearrange the chairs.

But seriously, I put bad only because now she could be anywhere on the Innerwebz.  Containment is the strategy of the liberals.  Never forget that.

Now that Gracie has said goodnight, I am certain nothing will change.

She hasn't had any real impact on DU since she left as Greenbriar and reincarnated as DemTenJeep - Though I will miss singing "Dolty Deeds" everytime I see a thread containing her handle...

Bad for DU.

As far as Skimmer goes, it's better to contain the nut that you do know as opposed to trying to figure out the one you don't.

The next drama queen could be a stark raving lunatic.

She'll never leave and has most likely already asked Skinner for a new user name.  In just a few weeks someone will spot her posting style.  Like Nutcase Nadin there's just too much attention waiting to be had and it's a drug for them.  The one thing I'll allow NN over GB is that she's never tried to hide herself AFAIK.

Bad for DU.

As far as Skimmer goes, it's better to contain the nut that you do know as opposed to trying to figure out the one you don't.

The next drama queen could be a stark raving lunatic.

You know, sir, last night I consulted my spirit guide, TheHollywoodNeoCon.

(You know I'm being facetious, but the lurking primitives, who can't see beyond the surface of things, don't, and so I'm compelled to say it for them: I'm being facetious.)

I told him I needed to see Skins's island, and the primitives, in a new way, a new perspective, from a new angle.

TheHollywoodNeoCon was lounging by the swimming pool, chomping on a big fat cigar and drinking a martini.

He said simply, "Family; think of it as family."

"Whoa," I said, "for a family, the primitives are sure a rather, uh, unfamilial family."

TheHollywoodNeoCon blew circles of smoke into the air, sipped some of his martini, and getting bored with me, turned to talk to someone else.

Since franksolich's spirit guide is so insightful, so full of wisdom and vision, I figured the problem with "getting the message" was with the receiver, not the sender, and so thought for a while.

Then it all came to me as a great flash of light, as it had to Saul on the road to Damascus.

Hot damn.  No wonder I seem to know the primitives so well.  I had thought it was because I carefully researched and analyzed them, but no, it wasn't.

As you know, I was the second-to-the-last child in a big family, six brothers and sisters preceding me, and one brother following me, there being a substantial gap between the sixth and myself.

Damn.  The primitives are exactly, precisely, as the older brothers and sisters had been.

And the primitives are even of the same ages the older brothers and sisters would be, if they were still in this time and place.  All of them, beginning with the ancient CalPig primitive, are the same ages as my own older siblings would be.

Whatshisname reminds me of one older brother, Pedro Picasso of an older sister.

The older brothers and sisters had been the Kennedyites of 1960, the Lyndonites of 1964, the Bobbyites of 1968, and the McGovernites of 1972 (despite their Republican upbringing).

franksolich knows the primitives so well because the primitives are like his own family had been.

Someone once asked why there was such a big difference between the older six, and the younger two, and they weren't talking about my deafness, or my younger brother's frailties.  Such people insisted it was as if the older six had been raised by different parents, than the younger two.

It was not until years later, when I was going through the family archives, that I divined the answer.  The older six had been raised by Dr. Benjamin Spock's books on child-rearing, after which the parents tossed those books away, figuring they didn't need them any more.

And then some years later franksolich and his younger brother came along.

Not having the Spock books any more, the parents had to raise us by parental instinct and intuition.

I'm afraid she won't, which again indicates to me she's not serious about solving her problems.

As noticed from dead DUmmies, if she sheds enough bad light on DUmmyland, Skimmer will ensure that she stays gone.
